Abel

I wake up in the middle of the night, expecting to see Rose beside me, but she's not there. I quickly sit up and look at the time: 3am.

I get out of bed and check all the rooms before going downstairs to see if she's there, but she's not there either. Where the hell did she disappear to? Panic starts to take over me. What if something's happened to her?

I call her, but she doesn't pick up. I call another five times. She doesn't pick up again. When I call for the sixth time, she picks up. I can hear loud music in the background.

"Hello?" she says over the noise.

"Rose, where the hell are you?" I snap. "Why'd you leave?"

"Awww, did I scare you, Abellll?" She starts to laugh. She's drunk.

I grit my teeth. "Rose," I say slowly. "Where the fuck are you?"

"At your club!" she says happily. "Quick question, why's it called Kiss Land? It sounds like a prostitute club." She starts to laugh hilariously.
As much as I'd love to laugh with her, I can't. I grab my keys and quickly put my shoes on, leaving the house. "Anywayyyyyy, I'm hanging up now! Bye, Abel!" The line goes dead and I start cursing to myself.

When I get downstairs into my car, I start driving quickly, not caring if I'm speeding. I need to get to Rose.

Ten minutes later, I'm walking into the club, searching for her. When I finally find her, my eyes grow wide. Rose is on one of the tables, dancing with a drink in her hand. I quickly run over to her and start tugging her hand, trying to get her down. She looks back and when she realises it's me, her face breaks into a smile.

"Look who decided to join the party!" she says.

"Rose! Get down!" I shout, still tugging her hand. When she doesn't listen, I grab her by her legs and throw her over my shoulder. She starts hitting at my back.

"Abel!" she screams. "Let me go! I'm not a child!" She punches my back, hard, but I ignore the pain. She's still hitting and screaming when I get outside. I go over to the passenger seat and open the door, shoving her inside. "Ouch! God, Abel, that hurt!"

"Stop being so dramatic," I mumble and she rolls her eyes. "Hey, remember that time I told you that I loved you?"

"Uh-huh," I say, putting her seatbelt on. I close the door and go over to the driver's seat and get in.

Rose rests her head against the seat. "And you said that you didn't love me," she says softly, staring at me. A pained expression takes over her face and I bite my lip. If only you knew, I think to myself. Her eyes close and I start to drive away.

When we get to the apartment, I pick Rose up and take her back to the guest bedroom. I climb in bed beside her and wrap my arms around her.

"Why are you even bothering with me, Abel?" Rose asks sleepily.

"Because I love you."

But of course, she doesn't hear me  because she falls asleep.

Rose

When I wake up in the morning, my head pounds and my insides stir. I run to the bathroom and throw up. Ugh. Why'd I drink so much? I continue to throw up and I feel my hair being held back and rubbing on my back, which just makes me vomit even more.

When I'm done, I walk over to the sink and rinse my mouth. I look up into the mirror to see Abel leaning against the wall, arms crossed.

I turn to look at him. "I'm sorry," I say. "I shouldn't have snuck out last night."

He runs his hand over his beard. "You know you scared the hell out of me," he says, looking at me seriously. "You could've woke me up and told me you were leaving."

I sit on the edge of the bath. "I know, I'm sorry," I say, looking down at my hands, like a child.

"It's fine," Abel says softly. "I'm just glad you're okay." I hear him walk over and he lifts my chin up, forcing me to look him in the eye. "Just make sure that the next time you feel like going out, tell me."

I nod. "Okay," I whisper.

Abel nods. "I'm gonna take a shower," he announces. He takes off his top and my eyes linger over his body. Before I can tear my eyes away, he's caught me. He starts smirking. "See something you like?"

I bite my lip and arch an eyebrow. "Maybe," I say, shrugging and his face breaks into a big grin.

"You want to join me?" Abel asks, coming closer.

Again, my eyes fall onto his body and I quickly snap myself out of it. What am I doing? I just got out a two year relationship and I just lost a child. I can't be flirting with any one. Not yet, at least. But then again, maybe it'll be good to move on? I dont know. I'm so confused right now. I look up at him now. He's looking at me so intensely that I feel goosebumps appear. He's so close. Too close.

I clear my throat. "Um," I say and he bites his lip, which I get distracted by. He starts grinning, knowing that he can distract me. "Maybe next time." I quickly rush out the bathroom, heart racing.
