**Tuesday Night**

BEEP!!!

The final buzzer went off. Our basketball team lost 50-55.

I slumped back against the wall.

Carter groaned beside me.

"Damn that was a close game." I said.

"I agree." someone said coming up beside me.

I turned my head and came face to face with Jason. I quickly looked away and stared forward.

"You never told me." he said.

"What?" I asked snapping my head around to face him confused.

"Why you hate me?" he said.

I rolled my eyes. "It's not important. Won't Chelsea get mad if she sees you talking to me?" I asked quickly changing the subject.

"If she did I'd be shocked." he replied.

Well,i guess that's the nice way to call me ugly then.

"I mean, not there's anything wrong with you or anything..." he said stumbling over an apologize.

"Please. Save it." I said walking away from him.

As Carter and I walked back to his car,Sarah(Carter's crush of two years) came up to him.

"Hey guys! You coming to the victory party?" She asked.

"Victory party? but we didn't win." he replied.

"we had the stuff just in case we did. So we're having a "Edge of Victory" party. She said smiling.

"I'm not really in the party mood tonight." I said yawning.

"What!? You not in a party mood?? You were the party cheerleader!" Sarah said shocked.

"Yeah I know" I said laughing.

"Well I guess I'll go ahead and get her home." Carter said pointing to me.

"Carter I can hitch a ride with someone else. Go ahead." I said.

"Are you su...." I cut him off.

"Go have fun." I said.

"GREAT! Let me go change out of my cheer uniform then we can head to the party." Sarah said to Carter.

The two of them walked away and I stood on the sidewalk wondering how I would get home.

"Maybe I should start walking" I said out loud seeing that as the only option.

"I don't think so" said that voice I've been hearing all too much lately.
