Chapter 6 - The Nasty Surprise

A month later...

Everything has fallen into a routine and no one is to summon me except for four people and even they have not even summoned me yet.  I am laying down in my booth being bored.  "Damn, Rain... *whistle* Looking sexy!"  I hear.  I roll back onto my stomach and see a regular patron standing at the bottom of the stairs to my booth.  I smirk at them as they approach me.  "I want to make a contract with you, babe~."  He says.  "I am sorry... All my available spots are full darling, but I am rather bored right now, do you care to... Entertain me?"   I coo.  "Rain!!! Number 4!!!"  I hear.  "Maybe later then darling..."  I say to the patron.   I then stand and my curtains close.  I go through Lord Furry's summoning card and I smile gently seeing him.  I am in my black dress.  He smiles at me gently.  "I heard you were on lock down."  He says.  I nod.  "Are you alright?"  He asks me.  "Yes, I am alright, Lord Furry."  I say softly.   He waves me over to him.  He is sitting on a bed beside the light source.  I sit beside him and he pulls me against him.  He lays me down beside him.  His soul is seeking comfort.  I wrap an arm around him hugging him.  I can feel his soul smile.  "Encre... You are so sweet, how did you earn the nickname Thy Devil?"  He asks me.  "I am a bit of a sadist is all when it comes to contracts and bonds." I answer.  He laughs at that.  "I find that as just one of your interesting qualities."  He says softly.  I smile at that.  He is still my favourite contract person.   

We have been cuddling for hours now.   Suddenly there is a knock at the door.  There is pure silence and I notice Lord Furry had fallen asleep.  I smile hugging him tighter.  I feel him shift slightly hugging me tightly.   The door opens and there is a gasp.  "Lord Furry... Has a partner?"  I hear.   "No... I think this is that gypsy he told me about one time... I heard she is really sweet."  I hear.   "I heard gypsy curse you."  I hear.  Lord Furry opens his eyes to see me looking up at him.   I smile at him and he places a hand on my cheek.   I place a hand over his and close my eyes.   "Rain... Are you truly... Alright?"  He asks.  I look him in the eyes and nod.  "My chest has not hurt for a couple weeks now."   I answer honestly.   I hear covered breathing.     Lord Furry helps me sit up.  "Did you scar?"  He asks.  "Yes... But I do not mind it."  I say gently.  He then blushes slightly. "Lord Furry? There is no need to worry..."  I trail off seeing how he is tearing up.   I place two hands on his cheeks.  "When I heard from Lord Fallacy you were attacked... I was so worried for you."  He says tears slipping from his eyes.   I wipe away his tears feeling tears of my own forming in my eyes.  I can feel the pain of his soul in mine.  "Lord Furry..."  I say before pulling him into a hug.  I see my card about to burn up.  I then use magic to turn back ten more minutes on it.  My hand then burns.  Lord Furry then pulls me back.  "Rain..."  He says seeing how my hand is burnt.  There are even a few drops of blood.   He then kisses my hand gently.  "You did not need to do that."   He says before licking my hand clean of blood.  "I wanted to... You are my favourite after all."  I say smiling gently.  He kisses my hand again smiling softly.  

5 minutes later...

He is looking at the scar across my chest. "Does it hurt?" He asks. "The area is just a lot more sensitive now."  I say gently.  "May I?"  He asks. I nod blushing slightly.  He runs a finger along the scar.  I gasp not expecting how sensitive it actually was. "Are you alright?"  He asks.  "It is a lot, more sensitive than I thought."  I say opening my eyes slightly.  I feel him rub along it again.  I have to grab onto him feeling my head spinning.  He hugs me while fixing my dress.  "You really are an angel, Rainbow..."  He says using my full stage name.   I blush darker than normal hearing him say that.  He places a hand against my ribs just over my soul.   "You have a kind and gentle soul, Rain... Remember the offer Lord Night gave you?"  He says to me.  I nod looking down.  "You and your brother can come live with me, I will take care of the both of you."  He says gently.  "I... Cannot accept your offer, Lord Furry... I am rogue remember?"  I say softly.  "Just... Think about it, my offer will always be open to you and your family for as long as you live."  He says gently.  I nod before hugging him.  "You are far too kind Lord Furry."  I say softly watching the card lift up.  He pulls me back gently grabbing my hands.  I watch as the card bursts into flames.  I feel a frown fall upon my face.  "Do not be sad..." he says gently.  I hug him gently.  He then reaches over to the side.  I pull away from him and he grabs my hand, carefully.  He opens my hand and places something in it.  "This will protect you."  He whispers.   I go to say something but I am reverse summoned. 

I end up in my normal spot.  I glare at the head woman.   She rolls her eyes at me then comes over to me.  "I summoned you back for a reason..."  She says as four crows fly in.  "You lost four contracts, one completed their goal the others were murdered."  She whispers to me.  "What..." I say in disbelief.  "They all went to summon you right before being killed... I am putting a notice out to all the rest of your contracts and warnings to the others... As long as you are on shifts you will not be leaving this building..."  She says freaking me out.  One crow then turns into a balloon before exploding confetti everywhere.  "Congratulations!!! You achieved a contract's goal!!!"  I hear.  Then the other three cackle wildly.  "Souls!!!"  They all cackle simultaneously.  They all turn into the contracts and then the souls.  I burn the souls smirking slightly, due to my sadist side.  "THY DEVIL TOOK THREE MORE LIVES!!!!"  I hear someone yell.  "Are contracts still... Allowed to see me?"  I ask.  She nods saying "Yes... Do you wish me to add that to the notice?"  I blush slightly nodding.   "You really do care about the four main ones do you not?"  She says smiling gently.  "Well... Yeah, they are my top priorities."  I make an excuse.  "Sure~"  She coos.  I then realize I am clutching the thing Lord Furry in my hand hard.  I then open my hand to see a small sack.  "What is that?"  The head woman asks me.  "Uh... I do not know... Number 4 gave it to me right before you summoned me... I was going to give it back but... Well... You cut me off."  I say blushing hard.  She then leads me into the back room.  My hands are trembling and I feel really emotional all of a sudden.  The head woman leans down in front of me.  "You are scared... Why?"  She asks.  I am holding the item to my chest feeling tears welled up in my eyes.  "The day I was attacked... I saw their eyes..."  I say remembering the red of them, the blood red colour.  "Do not worry about that..."  She says.  "Can you... Tell me how the others died?"  I ask feeling myself crying.  "They were cut up and their faces... They were not there..."  She answers me.  I cannot hold myself up anymore. I drop to my knees sobbing.  "Encre..."  She says making me look up at her.  "Is that how Number 23 died?"  She asks.  I nod.  "You will me staying here, your shifts will stay the same as well as your four summonings and your brother is moving in."  She says. My eyes go wide hearing her say that. She wipes away my tears. "Thank you."  I say softly.

Lord Furry's P.O.V...

I am walking around my castle extremely worried as I head down to where the meeting is about to be held when I see a crow outside a window.  It taps on the window before appearing as a gypsy, fully dressed as one.  "You will need to take a seat, Number 4."  They say.

I go down to the meeting room to see two other gypsies.  "Number 1, 8 and 4 are now present." The gypsy beside me says.  I then see Lord Fallacy and Lord Night looking at me confused. "Number 8... Yes, this is about Rainbow... He has put into a secured lock in... He is not to leave The Hole at any point in time, and you are to be given all severe warnings... There is someone after all his contracts, four were murdered recently but he has lost five... You three and two others are the only left living... One of them is allowed to see them as well as you three.  Number 47 is going to be broken off... Sadly..."  The gypsy that lead me down says.  "I will be taking over Number 47 due to me being specialized in what they are looking for."  One dressed in all red says.  

Lord Fallacy's P.O.V...

I hear the speech and my head is spinning.  "Why is he being held in The Hole?"  I ask.  The lords look at me with wtf faces.  "They are endangered... The one or ones who are killing the contracts, have attacked them before.  Number 1 and Number 4 have seen the damage that was made.  Number 1 we are in debt to what you did before the tragedy and after it."  The gypsy I recognize as Twilight says.  I nod slightly.  "Is there any chance we can see him?" Lord Night asks.  "Yes... But it dangerous for you too... Though the victims are all Mortals so far." The one in red says. "We still wish you caution."  The three of them say simultaneously.  "Rainbow has something to say to the three of you if you wish to visit them... They are doing this against the rules just so you realize this."  Twilight starts.   One pulls out a summoning card.
