Chapter 6: Who Is He?

As Jessica opened the door, Justin came out of his room. "Who are you?" Justin asked pointing at Jake.

"I am Jake, Jessica's new friend. Jake said stumbling over his own words. Justin didn't catch it though.

"Oh wow, that was fast and you already have new friends! Lucky!" Justin said walking back into his room.

"We'll that was close!" Jessica said to Jake wiping the nervous sweat off her forehead. She was also sweating because it is summer. The weather was about 92 degrees. Jessica slipped into her room. Jake followed closely behind.

"Wow! Nice room, it's neon green?" Jake said looking at the walls. He was right the walls were neon green but also glow in the dark! Jessica was a teenager but she was very childish at times.

"No it's purple. Yes you dork! Lol!" Jessica said giving him a pat on the back with her hand. Jessica thought Jake was kinda cute, but she thought he definitely wouldn't like her!

"Wow you are very sarcastic aren't you?" Jake said raising an eye brow. Jessica knew that was one of the face expressions she couldn't do.

"Sorry this room is against eyebrow raising." Jessica said letting out a little snicker. Jake thought Jessica was cute but there is more to him than meets the eye and he doesn't want to get her caught up in it. So he just made a little chuckle and moved on.

"So what is your family like?" Jake asked Jessica wanting to know more about her.

"Umm, I don't know. My brother and I are not Phil's kids. Jesse is. And he acts like he doesn't care what Justin and I do. So yah! And my mom is pregnant with ANOTHER BABY! My family sucks!" Jessica said in a kinda loud voice. Jake looked shocked. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to complain to you." Jessica said laying her head on her desk top.

"No, no! I mean I am just shocked. You seem like the kind of girl that has the perfect family!" Jake said looking Jessica in the face.

"Oh. Thanks, but my family is far from perfect! Tell me about yours." Jessica said to Jake curiously. Jake shrugged.

"My mom was a owner of a clothing shop. And my dad was a farmer. I had- I mean have a little sister named Katelyn. She was six. Our family got along pretty we'll. But then I met Sabrina. She was beautiful but then we had a horrible break up and....." He trailed off on his thought.

"It's okay you don't have to say anymore I understand it must've been hard having a bunch of things happen at once!" Jessica said hugging Jake. Then she let go feeling awkward.

"Don't feel sorry for me I did it to myself." Jake said looking at the ground. Jessica thought that that is his signature move. But didn't say it out loud. Jake is a mystery to Jessica and she kinda liked that. After all it would be the first boy she has ever dated in her life, no boy had ever bothered to go out with her. But she thinks that if he is a really nice person she might not want to ruin their friendship!!
