Skylar left the resteraunt that night pretty late. She cleaned the tables a little more than usual and she took extra time with everything. She really didn't want to leave. She had to wlak home today because sis didn't take her car since it wouldn't start earlier. she punched out and grabbed her jacket, scrf, red hat, and mittens from the locker room. She closed all the blinds and saw just ow dark it was outside. It reminded her of that day. She knew now what the whole meaning behind it was, but she was still damaged and scarred from it.
she made her way to the door after wrapping her scarf around her neck, placing her hat over her head and throwing on her jacket. She set the alarm on the resteraunt and she closed the door quickly. When she got outside he looked around and took a deep breath. No one was out. She took one arm out of her black winter jacket and put on one of her mittens, then she slid it back in. She did the same for her other arm and then zipped up her coat.
As she walked, she noticed how alone she was. She liked it...she didn't feel like someone was there watching her, she knew that she was alone.
When she got home, she went upstairs to tell her parents that she was back. Then off to her room she went, she opened up her laptop, which like always, took forever to load, and opened a text book to start reviewing for exams after she changed out of her work uniform. She read through one chapter when she decided to take a break. Her computer was done loading and she logged into all her accounts, one on each tab, and went downstairs to grab a snack.
She noticed that there were leftovers from when her parents had dinner. She reached for a plate and she started piling the food on it. As she was emptying the contents of the container onto her plate, she thought she heard a bang coming from the front door. It's late, and I'm being paranoid she thought to herself. She slid the plate into the microwave and went to the fridge to put the rest of the leftovers back and grab a drink.
When she opened the fridge she heard the bang again and dropped the container at the jolt. She picked up the container which luckly didn't open, and she set it on the counter as she closed the fridge.
Skylar made her way slowly to the front door. She saw a figure standing outside of it and began to worry. Should she open it, or should she leave it..it was late anyways, who could it be but yet another serial killer...
She reached for the door and opened it to see Mark standing there.
"Mark!" she spoke with a sigh of relief escaping her. She pulled him inside and closed the door, "What the hell are you doing here so late!? You should be at home resting...what are the doctors going to say about this huh?" she started lecturing.
"Skylar, its been months..im fine" Mark said, still shaking from the cold.
"Right..right, sorry..so what are you doing here?" Skylar asked.
"I came by to see how you were doing...I havn't seen you in a while.."
"you saw me yesterday.." she responded with a little laugh.
"yeah..that's a long time," he said also laughing..joking around now, "uhm, Skylar listen-"
"Skylar dear, who was at the door!?" her mother screamed down.
"It's Mark, and he is still here!" she yelled back up. She gave a smile to Mark, "sorry about that,"
Her mother walked down the stairs which were diagonal to the door and the kitchen on the other angle.
"Mark, what are you doing here so late? Shouldn't you be at home studying for exams? Or resting with your side and all?" Skylar's mother was about 5'5 and had long wavy light brown hair that she tends to keep in a pony tail as Skylar does. Her eyes are brown and she has high cheek bones.
