Chapter 1-
'Stop running little rabbit!!' I was screaming in my head while chasing a small brown rabbit. I ran faster, my jaws snapping at it's hind quarters. I heard my mother call for my sisters in the distance.
"Gracie, Genevieve!!" she shouted out the door in a sing song voice.
I heard my sisters squeal and run towards the house. Geez, Genevieve was six years older than me and she still acted like she was like sixteen. Yeah, Genevieve was playing an intense game of tag with my eight year old sister Grace. Twenty-four to eight? That's fair, at least it's fun.. I can't play anymore because 'It's not fair' and 'I'm too fast'. Yeah, wonder why... Psh.
Mother hesitated calling me, knowing I most likely will not come at will. "Bethany!?" she called with question in her voice.
‘Ugh I better go.’
I trotted towards home, shifting as I got close to the tree my riding gear was laying by. My horse Jenny was grazing my the tree as I shifted, she ignored it. Jenny's used to my wolf.
"Hey girl," I smiled and patted her side. Sometimes I wonder if she's like me, if she can shift too, but it's all in my head I'm the only one like this, well except my mate or that's what I call him, the special guy made just for me.
I quickly put on my gear and jumped on Jenny. "Let's go!" We rode up to the house as mother just about gave up on me.
"Beth, I swear.." she turned leaving the door open for me, holding my newest baby sister Gloria in her arms. Mother had her blonde hair cascading down her back, with a emerald green ballroom dress, to dressy for normal houseware.
"Momma," I caught up to her, swinging the huge door closed behind me. "Why are you so, dressed?" it struck my mind. "Are we having a party?" Mother turned to me.
"My gosh!" she exclaimed. "Has Genevieve not told you!?"
"Told me...?"
"That her and Sir Landon are courted!"
"Genevieve... and Eric Landon.. HOW DO I NOT KNOW OF THIS!?" I yelled in frustration.
Mother straightened her back as she saw my father approach behind me."Know of what Gina?" he asked.
"About Genevieve--" Mother cut me off.
"Genevieve didn't tell her and she's really upset."
"Oh Beth," He smiled. "I'm sorry Genevieve was so inconsiderate of you."
"Whatever," I snorted, walking away.
"Pick a nice dress honey!!" Mother shouted after me.
I sat with a pouty face plastered on and I watched Genevieve swirl across the dance floor, the music playing loud and smoothly, everyone swirling arm-in-arm. In Eric's arms, Genevieve looked completely ecstatic, her red-blonde hair piled atop her head as she was grinning up at him, her blue eyes sparkling as her pink dress swirled around her legs. Eric has the same sparkle in his bright green eyes as he looked down at Genevieve's face.
I look more like Eric than I look like either of my sisters. They both had blue eyes and red-blonde hair but I had bright green eyes and dark brown hair with blonde streaks from spending so much time in the sun. My skin was also darker thais there's, a caramel color almost as did Eric. Eric and I shared the same facial features, hair and skin tones, and eye colors. The only difference between Eric and I were I looked like a girl, with soft cheek bones, breasts and a figure and he looked like a boy, tall and muscular. How does this work? It doesn't.
