Chapter 11-
"Just let us out.." Sicily cooed. She wished she was older, if she were she might be able to seduce Brent into letting her go.
"I can't.. Should I call you your majesty or... I don't understand your arrangement with the King and Queen." Brent says.
"I'm a princess yes, not legible for the throne. I am a Bourne not a Monroe." Sicily glares harshly at Brent.
"Call her a princess. She is one.. I'm just a duke's daughter, nothing special.. call me by my name- Angelina Landon. Simple." Angelina says, crossing her arms.
"Alright. Princess and miss Angelina Landon," he smiles. "I cannot let you out for your safety-"
"I'm free to go as I wish. I'm not the reason this war has started," Angelina says indirectly towards Sicily.
"How could you blame this on me!?" Sicily screeches.
"Hey now-" Brent tries to cut them off.
"It's all your fault!" Angelina bites back.
"How! It's not my fault I was born!" Sicily gets in Angelina's face.
The smell of panic erupts in the room when Brent is put in this position. He doesn't know what to do about the feuding girls. He can't hurt them, the King and Queen will have his head!
"It should be! You're the little she-devil hybrid-" Angelina spits and Sicily jumps on her, attempting to claw at her face.
"I'll show you she-devil!" Sicily shrieks and shifts.
Angelina growled and shifted too. The two circled each other as Brent tried to intercept. "Hey! You two need to calm down-" Sicily's head whipped toward him, flashing her sharp, slobbery canines. "I've dealt with worse! Strigoi-" Brent was cut off.
"Puh-lease," Angelina shifted back. "We're a lot worse. Especially Sicily here. A damned WAR has began because of her! You don't think she's capable of something? Oh think again. The adults don't know everything like we do. We're a team if you haven't noticed." she smirked.
Pain flashed across Brent's face as the colour started to drain away. Sicily was taking the air right out of his weak, cancer infected lungs. She'd love to kill him, and so would the Strigoi in her even her Moroi. It wasn't right such a sick thing was forced upon a Guardian's job.. She flicked her tongue out and as she drew it back into her mouth, the final gasps of air were taken from Brent's lungs. She felt a little bad for the just becoming man that was sitting here, ready to protect her at any moment, but..
"He was going to die today anyway. You made the right choice on doing that. He was going to die a lot worse later," Angelina said before shifting.
"His lungs were going to fill with vile fluids and he was going to drown. Poor boy," Sicily said in her mind link.
Angelina nodded stiffly before she nudged Sicily backwards. On the mental count of three, the charged the door, wood splintering everywhere. They were lucky they got out at that moment. War was just breaking out.
Deacon's white fur was seen in a quick flash by his next victim before it was bloodied by the Strigoi's dark, tangy blood. Axel was proud of his young son's bravery. All was going perfectly well. Not many bodies from the non-Strigoi side laid on the ground.
More and more Strigoi flooded in and Axel felt like he was going to strongly win this and keep his family safe.. Until he saw his adoptive daughter and niece running up the Aelishian mountain.
Axel wasn't sure if he should panic or be angry. What had happened to the Guardian? Should he leave his son or..
"GO!" Deacon shouted in the mind link. "Don't hesitate! RUN!"
He did just that. He tore off towards the mountain. When he reached the top, he was amazed at what he saw. Colours erupted from the sky, just above Beth and an Alchemist.."Beth!" he shouted in his mind.
She looked back, her eyes in sorrow before a blinding light eurrupted. When the light faded, the Alchemist and Bethany were gone. Sicily and Angelina were holding each other and the sound of the war had gone.
Sorrow struck Axel as he slowly walked toward Sicily and Angelina. Deep down, he knew Bethany was gone forever. Without a word, and a single sorrow stricken look, she was ripped out of his heart forever.
"You know what and why don't you," Axel said as he shifted and sat next to the girls.
"We do. It sadly didn't work." they chorused.
