*Peyton's POV*
I walked into the school, fixing the straps on my backpack to a more comfortable adjustment. Ray walked with me to our lockers and kissed my cheek as we parted ways. Diggy came up to me as I started to walk away from my locker.
"Pey,you got an extra pencil? I forgot mine.." He seemed fidgety,as if something wasn't right.
I nodded. "Yea,here." I passed him a dark blue mechanical pencil and he smiled. "Thanks,"
He began to walk away, but I grabbed his shoulder, giving him a strange look.
"Are you seeing leprechauns everywhere or what? What is with you?" I asked, looking at him.
"Oh,nothing. I'm fine I promise." He smiled, and looked behind me,widening his eyes just a bit before trying to walk away.
"Danny! Babe! You haven't texted me all weekend! I missed you!" I rolled my eyes as I heard the voice that irked me to the fullest. I turned around just in time to see Kristina jogging over to Diggy and throwing her arms around his neck before kissing him. He pulled away slightly, being she caught the attention of a crowd when she yelled out in the hallway like that.
"See you later Diggs." I said, trying to get as far away from her as I could.
"Hey Pey!" A look crossed my face as Kristina smiled widely at me. Is she mental or...?
"I love that shirt! Not too fond of the shoes, though." She looked me up and down with a look on her face before quickly flashing another fake smile.
"Yea well,I'm not too fond of you or your clothes,so.." I smiled sarcastically and walked away before she could say anything else, and I smirked to myself as her scorn replayed in my mind.
I walked to Geometry, sitting all the way in the back of the class. I really wasn't for all this thinking today, especially since I stayed up last night with Ray trying to figure out some problems.
Mr. Brand told us to pass up our homework after he took the roll, and since I was sitting at the back of the row,a face turned around to me,waiting to receive my paper. It wasn't familiar, but then I don't recall any new names when he called roll.
I handed him the paper, and he passed them up before turning back to me,smiling a bit. "Doesn't look like today is your day."
I chuckled at his comment.
"It really isn't. I'm exhausted." I crossed my eyes and sighed for dramatic effect. He laughed.
"Don't worry, though. You still look good." He winked, and I smiled.
"Thanks."
"Welcome,Peyton." I paused.
"How do you know my name?"
"When you passed up your paper,I snuck a look."
"Do we have something we need to share with the class,Mr. Spellar and Ms. Hathorn?" I heard Mr. Brand say in an annoyed and mocking tone from the front of the room.
"No sir,it's all good back here." Mr..... Spellar said, waving a small wave at Mr. Brand. Mr. Brand rolled his eyes a bit and turned back to the board, carrying on with his lesson.
"I'm Chris. Call me Chris. Not new here, but new to this class." He chuckled and shook my hand.
"I'm Peyton, call me Pey." I smiled, looking at his short curls at the top of his head, kind of like Chres's,but darker. He had a skin tone that was a little lighter than Ray's but not by much.
He turned back around, paying attention to whatever Mr. Brand was writing on the board. I laud my head on my desk, taking a short nap.
When I heard the bell ring,I jumped up,watching as everyone hurried from the room. I grabbed my bookbag and walked to the door, but felt a light tap on my shoulder.
I saw Chris standing there, smirking with my notebook put out in front of him. I grabbed it from him and smiled, thanking him.
"It's cool. By the way,you didn't bother me much with your snoring."
I face-palmed myself and heard him chuckle.
"Was it bad?"
"No,it was silent,kinda. It's fine,really."
"Oh my gosh." I laughed, feeling my ears turn red.
"It's okay. See you tomorrow,Pey." He did a small wave before walking off to the left side of the hallway, and I went the opposite way, heading to my next class, history. Kill me now.
