Chapter 30

*Peyton*

We looked left,then right,then left again. There was nowhere to go without getting caught. This was a fail. There was no way we would get out of here.

"Oh my god." I said,face-palming.

"We have to make a run for it." Kenya said in a shaky voice.

"Wh-what?" I asked? And before I knew it she had took off,running with all her might to the patch of woods directly in front of us.

I widened my eyes and looked to my right,only to see Amaya and Penny not there. I turned my head,only to see them entering the wooded area also. I quickly got up a ran with all my might, which helped since I used to do track.

When I got in the thick patch of trees,I was pulled down on the ground. I fell on a twig and caught my breath as I looked and saw Kenya holding up a finger for us to keep quiet. I looked out from the tree we were behind and saw a guard looking towards the woods,a confused and serious look on his face. He tapped another guard and pointed to the woods,which seemed like he was pointing directly to us. My heart beat so hard im surprised there wasn't an earthquake. I didn't even think to breathe. The guard said something,and made his way over to the woods slowly with the other guard following behind him.

I widened my eyes once more as they got closer.

My brain were telling my legs to move as fast as they could,but I couldn't force them to move no matter how hard I tried. "We have to go." I said,whispering with no breath in my lungs.

They wasted no time in running,but my legs were still un responsive. I grabbed onto Amaya's arm just as she took off,after Penny. My legs finally mustered up the strength to move,though they were numb. I ran as fast as I could,not caring about the constant sound of twigs cracking,of leaves rustling,of us running.

After running for what seemed like forever,we came to a stop. We couldn't run anymore. We were out of breath. I fell onto the dead leaves and broken twigs,struggling to catch my breath. I looked around and saw the rest of my sisters,breathing roughly and scared out of their minds.

We sat there a minute,and when my breathing got normal enough for me to finally talk,I managed to say, "We did it."

Penny nodded,then looked at my legs. "Your leg," she said,pointing down to it. I looked down at my leg, and i saw a deep,fresh cut on the side of it. My eyes widened,and I gasped.

"You were running too fast. You didn't feel it?" She asked.

I shook my head no. "I still dont feel it."

"Its loosing alot of blood," she said,and ripped the sleeve from her gown. I started to feel light headed,as if my head was a balloon and all the helium was going out.

My vision got blurry,and before I knew it,I was in Kenya's arms,and she looked at me.

"You alright? You almost tilted over.." She said. I blinked hard,and shook my head. My vision got back normal,and I caught Penny tying her sleeve tightly around my wound.

The blood quickly seeped through the gown sleeve,but it stopped the bleeding a bit.

"We have to get her to a hospital. What do we do now? We don't even know where we are.."

"We have to find out. We'll walk around until it starts getting dark. We have to get out of these woods." I said.

We all stood up and started walking.

We didn't know which way we were going. We didn't even know where we were. The woods seemed to go on endlessly,and the picture of it all started to tilt a bit.

"Wait,what's hap..."
