Dean was laid out on the couch asleep, he had decided he needed to be close to Opal for her first night without Castiel. He woke and her door was slightly open, he stood and cocked his gun, creeping carefully towards the door, he nudged the door open with his foot and looked in, it was empty, the bathroom looked empty. He crept around until he reached the kitchen to find her cooking something humming. She was in a simple pair of sweat pants and a tank top, her wings sweeping down. He stood and admired a moment, then he cleared his throat. She turned and furrowed her brow at the sight of his gun and he quickly placed it on the counter. She relaxed and continued cooking. She turned only once more and motioned towards a chair at the table and set down a cup of something. Dean walked over and sat down, taking the mug and smelling it. He smiled softly, hot chocolate with cinnamon. She continued humming cherry pie and Dean smiled into his cocoa. He watched her swaying her hips as she was cooking, and they enjoyed the silence together. After a bit she put a plate of waffles bacon eggs and sausage in front of him, and he just stared at it a moment, then stood up and hugged her tightly against his chest. She squeaked but after a moment she relaxed and hugged him back. He held her for a minute and kissed the top of her head before letting go and sitting back to his meal, dousing it in syrup and digging in. Opal smiled and giggled softly and sat down with her equally heaping plate and her cocoa. They continued in there soft silence until Opal broke it speaking softly

"I heard your nightmares last night, they we're just like mine, about purgatory." she said faintly. He stopped eating for a moment and looked into his cup and nodded.

"You can come sleep with me if you ever need" he said gruffly, and she nodded. They continued eating until Dean's phone rang. He softly thanked Opal for breakfast and left to take the call. She swept up the dishes and she placed them carefully in the sink and pulled one of the left over slices of pie and placed it on the table and disappeared to reappear in her room.

In his room Dean sat down and answered his phone

"Hey Dean" Sam's voice came through the phone.

"Hey, you ok?" Dean asked worriedly.

"Yeah I was just calling to check on you and Opal." He said and Dean sighed

"She's wonderful, I don't know what to tell you." Dean whispered gruffly. Sam chuckled.

"Good because I'm stopping by today but then heading back out, I need to do some research." He said, Dean grunted back and Sam hung up. Dean got up and went into the kitchen to tell Opal and saw the pie waiting for him. He smiled and let it sit while he washed the dishes. He sat down to eat and saw Opal peek in, he looked up and she disappeared again. He sighed and placed his plate in the sink and walked into her room. She was laying on her stomach on the floor, admiring the stars in the jar.

"Are they helping?" Dean asked and she just nodded, transfixed on the small flowing lights. Dean smiled gently and sat next to her and sighed.

"I'm sorry I wasn't all that nice when you got here, I've had some pretty crappy experiences with faeries, and angels." he said and she rolled over to look up at him, her hip bumping his leg.

"I understand." she said softly, not looking at him, he gently put a finger under his chin and turned her to face him.

"I'm going to protect you now, Sam already thinks your wonderful, Cas loves you" he softened and looked at her "I'm starting to like you" she giggled and he smiled. She sat up carefully and sat in his lap, curling against his chest. It was a nice moment, and then Cas appeared in the room. Opal bolted up and jumped on him

"Hey love, how's it going?" Cas asked, paying no attention to Dean, until Opal mentioned him

"Dean's been keeping me safe and spending time with me." she said happily, Cas looked up at him and raised an eyebrow. He just shrugged. Cas set her down on the bed.

"I only have a moment but I wanted to make sure you were doing well." Cas smiled, Opal nodded and sat up to kiss him softly. He smiled and dropped something in her lap, she looked down at it and then up to see he was gone. She looked over at Dean who motioned to the bag and she opened it to pull out a soft black angel feather and an incarnation. Dean looked at her slightly confused, her eyes were tearing up

"It's so I can bring Gabriel Back" she whispered softly. Dean nodded.

"I'll leave you to do this then." Dean said softly and left before she could respond.

"Gabriel.." she whispered
