Chapter 13: I'm Sorry

Nathan's P.O.V.

"Are those real tears coming from your eyes?" I look over and see Paige lying down next to me.

I quickly look away and look up at the sky and wipe at my house. "I don't know what you're talking about." I mumble.

"It's okay to be vulnerable sometimes, love. I actually love when you're vulnerable and when you open up to me." She says and kisses my cheek lightly.

"Why?" I ask and turn onto my side to look at her better.

"Because it's cute and it shows me that you trust me." She says with a small smile.

"Of course I trust you. I love you, Paige. I love you more than anything." I say quietly.

"I love you more than anything too." She says back and cups my cheeks with her hands and kisses my lips lightly.

"I have to go now." She says as she pulls away.

"Please don't." I beg and wrap my arms around her waist and pull her into my chest tightly.

"I wish I didn't have to." She says and I feel her shoulders shaking and wetness flowing onto my shirt.

"Don't cry, baby. I hate seeing you cry. I know you have to go but please don't forget that I love you more than anything." I say and kiss the top of her head.

"I love you too." She whispers into my chest and kisses it lightly then disappears like she was never there to begin with.

Lucas's P.O.V.

I take a deep breath and walk up the front steps to Alex and Paige's house and ring the doorbell. A few seconds later the door opens with Harry Styles standing there. He motions for me to walk in and then follow him into what looks like the living room where the other boys from One Direction, Alex, Nathan, Rose, and Rae.

I sit down on one of the couches and look down at the ground.

"Well are you going to say anything or are you just going stare at the ground like a dumbshit?" Rae blurts out.

"Yeah I agree with her. If you don't start talking, I'm leaving." Nathan says.

"Wow did you two just agree on something?! We're making progress!!" Rose yells then quickly apologizes.

"Okay listen I'm sorry. I know sorry isn't good enough but I regret everything I ever did to Paige. If I could take everything back I would in a heartbeat. Paige meant so much to me and I don't know why I did what I did to her. I know all of you loved her more than anything and again I'm so sorry. It was a stupid mistake that went too far. I never meant for any of it to happen. I know you probably will never forgive me and that's fine, I understand that. I just wanted you all to know how sorry I am." I say and look up at all of them.

"Well sorry is fucking good enough. Sorry won't bring Paige back! Sorry won't fix anything!" Rae says angrily and jumps up and tries to lunch for me but Nathan wraps his arms around her waist fast and pulls her back.

"Let me go, goddamnit!" She yells at Nathan and start thrashing around in his arms.

Rose stands up and holds onto her arms and start whispering to her until she finally stops struggling and let's Nathan pull her back into the couch.

"I'm so sorry...." I mumble.

"I really hope you learned from your mistakes and I hope you never make the same mistakes again. You're right, none of us will ever forgive you for what you did but we'll move on. We all loved Paige more than anything. Including you, you two were really close before everything that happened." Alex says as she leans into Harry's side.

"I miss her too." I admit and look back down at the ground.

"Everyone misses her. She was a very loved girl. But she was also a very broken girl who needed her pieces to be put back together but she decided to do it her own way." Rose says.

I nod and look back up at all of them. Alex is resting in Harry's arms. Nathan is staring at the ground looking lost. Rose is rubbing Rae's back gently.

"I think I should go now." I mumble and stand up. Harry stands up too and leads me out.

"I'm sorry for your lose, man." Harry says quietly when we reach the front door.

"Thank you." I say, surprised.

"Give them some time. They might come around." He says.

"Yeah I'm not so sure about that." I say as I walk outside and he closes the door behind me.
