Chapter 11
The next day we walked down the yellow brick road, we were reaching the first that surrounded the queens castle.
It was dark and damp, extremely eerie. We all drew our swords or whatever weapon we had.
The was a roar and lions came out of the trees from every direction. We fought them off best we could. Slashing into them with our weapons, Regina knocked three out with a ball of fire.
A lion pounced from behind and grabbed my arm, I treys to reach around and stab it but it was out of my reach.
The pain was growing unbearable. All of a sudden Hook chopped the lions throat off with his sword the body went limp. Hook's hook was lodged deep in the lions head. He flung the head away, and helped me to my feet.
"You okay, Love?" He asked.
"Yea." I said breathless, then continued to fight. I turned just in time to see a lion fly down from the tree above and land right on Neal.
Neal fell back and I screamed. I though I screamed at least. But instead I only stood there mouth wide, tears in my eyes.
The lions teeth attacked his body, he began to bleed and he screamed bloody blue murder as the lion tore at his throat and he fell down limp, completely unconscious.
I tried to fight my way too him but I was weak from the blood still oozing down my arm. The years in my eyes overflow as I reached him and knelt down. I may not of loved Neal anymore but he was still Henry's father.
The battle lasted only around ten minutes but it seemed to have lasted forever.
When all the lions were gone all you could hear was my sobs, As Hook rocked me back and fourth in his arms trying to comfort me as I sat staring at Neal's dead body, and Rumple's quiet murmurs of "My Boy! No Bae!", Belle was comforting him.
I don't know how long we stayed there, completely still, but it seemed loke hours had pasted before Sno-Mom said something.
"He's in a better place."
"He would of wanted us to continue on and find Henry, Emma." Davi-Dad Said to me before he turned to Rumple. "I'm sorry." He said and although it wasn't his fault, it wasn't anyone's fault, not even mine. No matter how much it felt like it was, it's wasn't my fault there was nothing anyone could of done.
"Come on, Love." Hook said as he pulled me to my feet and I turned crying into his shoulder.
Regina snapped her fingers. "I sent him back to the enchanted forest. When we get home we'll have a proper funeral." I liked the sound of that.
We walked through the rest of the forest till we reaches the wicked witches castle. I stared up at the tall building, tears still in my eyes.
Hook had his arm around my waist, lips on my head. He was trying to console me, and it helped.
"Let's go get Henry." I said
"For Neal." Mom said to me as she kissed my cheek. "I love you."
"I love you too, Mom" I replied and smiled at her. She smiled back at my endearment, as we walked up to the castle gates the plan talked about the night before now being turned into action.
