Meg P.O.V.
When I get back to the docks most of the boys are waiting. I go up to Spot's throne and sit watching some of the boys play in the water. A body sits next to me and puts his arm around me. "Heya Race."
"Heya Meg! Bad day or something?"
"Yeah, but I-Ise don't wanna talk bout it right now." I say turning back to the water.
"It's alright, Race is hea." I giggle remembering the time when Mush tried to get us together.
Flashback:
Mush comes up and hugs me. "It's alright, Mush is hea."
"Mush!"
"Okay! Sorry, sorry!"
End Of Flashback.
"What's so funny?" asks Race.
"Nothin, jus rememberin 'hatten." I sigh.
"Say! Dats a great idea Meg!"
"What is?"
"Wese can all go and visit 'hatten! Da boys can see how dere leadah is doin and Ise can beat Mush at poker!"
"Race, youse jus wanna gamble..."
"Well youse da one dat said it!"
What?!?! Dat doesn't even make sense.
I roll my eyes and get up and turn around facing all of the newsies.
I whistle and everyone's attention turns to me. "Wese goin ta 'hatten! And ya leadah is dere too so don't make me look TOO bad!"
Cheers and applauses come down from below.
When we get to Manhattan, the newsies there just got back from selling papes.
I walk in and everyone turns their heads to us. "Eva hoid of knocking?" Mush asks.
"Heya Mush!" I hug him.
"Heya Meg!" Kid Blink calls from behind Mush. I run over and hug him too.
Pretty soon ALL of the 'hartan newsies are calling my name:
"Meg o'er hea!"
"Whatcha doin hea?"
"Ise pretty sure youse can't leave da newsies back in Brooklyn!"
"How much longer till we see ya again?"
At last I go up and kiss Race.
"Blech!" calls a voice at the top of the stairs.
"Spot!" I run upstairs and hug him, making sure I don't step on his toe.
"See ya came back, why though?" He asks.
"Well, ya newsies are outside, and they'se won't stop buggin' mes ta come see ya."
"Oh, well, send in like 5 atta time please. Startin wit Ace, Muddy, Snip, Teeny, and Buzz."
"I'll send it whoeva Ise want!" I laugh at him and set him back down on the bed.
I send in the newsies Spot wanted first and then continued with the rest of them.
