"W-Where am I?" I ask.
"Oh, youse awake!" My vision is blurry and I can't see clearly. "Where am I?" I ask again. "Well youse in de Brooklyn Lodging House! Heya Mitch!" My vision clears, oh shit it's Meg!
"Meghan Baletti. Why did youse take mese in?" I ask. "Well, Ise thought dat if Ise took ya, youse could surrender?" She bats her eyelashes. "NEVER!" I start to sit up but am shoved back down to where I lay. "Never's a pretty long time, Mitch." She says and sits down next to me on the cot. I glare at her.
"Dontcha throw a hissy fit, Mitch. Jus get it through ya mind, we won. You lose. Wars ova. Queens, Brooklyn, and 'hattan won." I furrow my eyes at her, "Ise will not give up, at least not that easy." She stands. "So youse saying that you COULD give up." "I would if I wanted to." I object. "Then why wontcha?" She asks. "Um..." "Spit it out Mitch!" She yells. "Ise-*sighs*-Ise related ta Dunn..." She stumbles back, "Youse??? Related ta Dunn?? As in Dunn the Long Island leadah?" I look down at the covers, "Yeah, and dontcha tell anyone's! Ise ain't wanna be known for joining cause me brudda is, well Dunn."
"Oh, it's okay I guess-"
"No Meghan! It's not okay! Wese was gettin along pretty fine an' all! Then he comes marchin inta my life ag'in like it's not already ruined!" She tries to calm me down with a soothing voice, "You'll be fine Mitch. You'll be fine. Ya stay hea for now and soon youse would be back ta da Bronx! How does dat sound?" I think it over, if I ask to join Brooklyn's side Ise can get rid of Dunn. If not...
"Can Ise transfa sides of da war and stick wit youse?" She nods, "If dats whatcha wan'." "Good, dats what Ise want." We both spitshake to seal the deal.
