Meg P.O.V.
The next week, Jack drags me to Brooklyn. "Jack! Listen ta me! Ise can't go!" I scream.
"Yes! Youse have ta! Youse have no choice!" He stops and turns around. "Can youse AT LEAST tell me why wese goin ta Brooklyn?"
"Meg," he steps closer to me. "Ise can't let ya know, not right now." He wraps his arm around my shoulder and I do the same.
He starts to whistle. "Hey! Ise know dat song..."
"Yeah." "Ise thought youse was over Santa Fe?" It took a while for him to respond.
"Eh. Ise mean, sometimes I know dat New Yawk is my place. But Ise know dat Santa Fe is still thea, waitin." Wow. I never thought that Jack was still into going to Santa Fe... Is that why I'm going to Brooklyn? So he doesn't have to take care of me? So then I won't know and when I DO come back, he'll be gone?
Now we're walking onto the docks, and I'm scared. "Well if it ain't Jack be nimble, Jack be quick."
I tilt my cap down lower onto my face, hoping for now he won't recognize me. Spot sighs. "Ise thought dat youse was banned from Brooklyn? Eh?" I look up and he is standing right in front of me. Taking up all of my personal space. Jack looks from Spot to me, "What?"
Spot tells Jack the story and what happened throughout the whole thing.
"Oh, Meg, now Ise know why youse didn't wanna come hea..." He hugs me. Spot speaks up. "Yeah, Ill take 'er." Jack nods. "We'll be back soon ta get youse okay?" Jack starts to walk away. "Wait!" He turns around, "youse really leavin me hea?" He sighs.
" I-Ise sorry Meg, but," He looks at Spot and sprints out of the docks. Someone holds me back and I can't move.
"LET GO OF ME YOU SUNAVA.......... Oh, uh, Hi Ace." He smiles and engulfs me in a hug. "Glad ya back." "Ha, wish Ise could say da same."
