August 31, 2017

The sky was still dark when my alarm went off at 5:45 am. I get up and see my reflection in the mirror. I looked horrible.

I get out of bed to get ready for my first day back into a public school.

My mom is one of the best cardiologist in the country and because of that we are constantly moving around and my mom thought it was best for me to get homeschooled.

But now she has a stable job at a children's hospital in California.

I start to curl my hair and apply a soft amount of makeup multitasking around.

Once I finish I dress myself in a romper. I add purple feather earrings and my tan booties.

I grab my bag and car keys and run out of my house. My mom had been in the hospital all night and she was still not back.

When I arrive to Grant, a huge group of people were blocking the walk way to the school. They all chanted 'fight' or 'get him'. First fight of the school year. Nice.

As I pass the crowd I roll my eyes at the ignorance of these people. There's about 30 people there and not one stops them. The security guard arrives seconds later and pulls the two boys aside.

I walk into the office and see all the staff running around, like little mice when they're caught.

I observe and wait for one of them to stop, but it seemed like not one was ever going to.

"Can I help you?" I hear a girl say. She was petite, red head, and a nose piercing.

"Umm...yeah. I need my schedule. I'm new."

"Oh. First periods are posted around the school. In that class they'll give you your schedule."

"Thank you," I reply.

I turn around to walk towards the door, when I hear screaming coming from the back of the room. "Mr. Mendes this is your first warning, and I'm hoping it'll be the last."

"Yeah, yeah whatever." I hear the boy say.

The boy walks past me and opens the door not before catching a glimpse of me and walking out the door.

"That's all trouble. Don't get fooled by the face." The girl that helped me said.

I nod my head and walk out. I see girls hugging, couples kissing, and bullies bullying. I walk around the huge campus looking for class list.

When I find my name I see that I have ROP Floral Design. I didn't really care. I just wanted to cruise through school, like I did before.

I walk towards the classroom and see a bunch of girls heading that way. When I entered the class there was only one boy.

He sat in the front next to a girl with a flower crown to accessorize her red hair and a floral dress. The guy turned around and it was the same one from the office. He kissed the girl, but continued to stare at all the other girls.

Typical.

His face was well defined and he had a beautiful white smile. His body was sculpted nicely and his arms were big. He wore a burgundy tee shirt and black pants and a leather jacket.

I stared at him a little longer. Studying him.

"I told you he's trouble." It was the same girl from the office, "I'm Katherine. That's Shawn. Girls line up to date him even though they know he's  a playboy. That's Rose."

I didn't need to know who he is. I mean it's so irrelevant, but I will admit drama is one of my favorite things. It's so stupid, it's wonderful.

"Laura." I simply say. The last bell rings warning students that they should already be in class.
