November 4, 2017

I walk into the little cafe that Chris had told me to go. I look around and see the blue-eyed man who had broken my heart eight months ago, sitting at the table while he played around with his phone.

I felt a lump forming in my throat. I wanted to cry. I remember the day I caught him. How I threw my drink in his face. I ran out of that Starbucks crying. I almost got hit by a car because of the tears coming out of my eyes.

I approach him, ignoring all of the emotions I was feeling. When I reach him he stands up and looks at me. We stay there quiet.

"Hey." He says hugging me. I return the greet and hug him as well.

I pulled out a chair and sat down, but he scooted the chair in for me. He's still a gentleman.

"So how have you been?" He asked me while pushing in his chair.

"Good." I simply say, "How about you?"

"I've been better." He smiled.

I look at his smile. His beautiful contagious smile. I felt a tear stroll down my face. He gave me the most sympathetic look ever.

"What's wrong?"

I let out the tears that I had been holding back. "It's just that I miss you so much. You were so good to me up until you cheated and... you made me break." I paused for a moment then continued, "So please say what you need to say, so I can leave."

He reached over the table and wiped my tears away.

"Look I know how you feel." No you don't. "I know what you're thinking. No you don't know how I feel, but last month I felt that pain. My ex cheated on me, and now that I know how it feels, well I um... I am so sorry for hurting you."

I felt bad now that he's been hurt, but I'm glad he knows what it feels like to be cheated on.

He chuckled, "Well you know what they say. Karma always comes back to bite you in the ass."

I laughed at his comment. He continued, "But mine was way worse."

"Oh how so?" I rolled my eyes playfully.

"She had multiple partners and was married. Her husband beat the crap out of me." I looked at him wide-eyed. He continues, "Yeah. You may not believe me, but it's true."

"Why?" I asked.

"Well because I was with his wife." He said in a duh tone.

"No. I meant why did you ever cheat on me."

He looked around the room and then simply says, "I don't know. I was stupid that's what I do know. I don't know how I could have cheated on you. A lovely, beautiful, and kind person. You didn't deserve it, and I never meant for you to find out. I was gonna dump her, but I guess you were always meant to find out. It breaks my heart to think that I hurt you."

I gaze down to the table fidgeting my fingers. I smiled. Finally. I have closure. "Thank you. I finally have closure. That's all I needed."

"Well I'm glad you do." He smiled, "Umm... How are you doing at your new high school?"

"I'm good. I made friends quickly and I'm kinda seeing someone." I tell him.

"Oh. You're seeing someone. Is it exclusive?"

I look at him. His sad eyes looked at me.

"Um... not really. I feel so bad being with him."

"Why? Is he treating you bad?" He asks with a concerned tone.

I quickly respond, "No. He never has. It's just his past, and what I'm doing to him."

He narrowed his eyebrows, "And what's that?"

"The girls I'm hanging with are his exes. Two of them are ones that he dated at the same time, and they are looking for revenge."

His eyes widen, "Um. What kind of revenge?"

"Um... one that involves breaking his heart and humiliation."

"Oh." He simply says. I look at him ashamed. "Lala, that isn't you. Don't do it. Back out before that happens. You'll regret hurting him, just like I regret hurting you. Because trust me you won't get him back once the damage is done."

I think about it. He is right. That isn't me. And I will hurt him. It suck to be hurt by someone you believe loved you. I mean Chris did love me and he showed me that he did every time we were together.

What if Shawn falls for me and I fall for him? I could loose him. What if I just leave him now before things get too serious?

I look up to him. Then I see Shawn walk into the cafe.

"Oh no."

"What?" He asked.

"That's him. He is gonna think I'm cheating on him. What do we do?"

All of a sudden I grab Chris's hand and walk out with him. But I was stopped by my name calling me. I turn around and see Shawn.

"Hey." I said.

"Who is this?" He quickly asks.

"Um this is Chris. My... ex boyfriend. We met up because he wanted to invite me to have dinner with his family." I didn't lie at all. He did ask me to go to dinner with his family last night while texting.

"Hey." Chris says trying to break the silence.

"Great." He said insincere. He left with his bag of donuts. Quickly out of there.

I stood in front of Chris. "I think I shouldn't go to see your family. It's not fair to him. He is my boyfriend. No matter what I am up to."

He nodded his head and said, "There's my Lala. Maybe we can meet up some other time. When he trust you with anyone. But not now. Go after him. I'll see you around."

I smile at him and runout to the parking lot. I look around and see him sitting in his car turning the engine on. I run towards it and tap on the passenger window signaling him to open it.

He did and I it in. "Shawn he's no threat to you. You're the person who I am with now. He's a friend now. I won't go back to him if you don't want me to. You are my boyfriend."

He smiled after I said boyfriend. "So it's official now?" I nodded my head. "And Laura I don't want you to think I'm overprotective so if you want to keep seeing him then do. It's just the way you made it seem. Like you were trying to hid something."

"Thank oh and I am so sorry." I leaned in and kissed him.

"So shall we?" I ask.

"To where?" He asked.

"Your house. I want to meet your parents." I said.

"Not now. They are out of town, but we can go to my house and just watch a movie, make some popcorn, and just lay there with each other."

"Sounds perfect."

Okay three chapters. One day. I actually had this one written a long time ago. I just needed to add the ending.

I guess that's all.
