I walked through the hallways, feeling like a totally new person. Everyone smiled at me. I was like a ray of sunshine.
Sadly, it didn't last long as it was covered by a cloud. The girls stood in front of me with the most upset face ever.
"What happened on Friday?" Katherine asked out loud.
"Shh... Not here. We'll talk in our place later." Luckily the bell rang, saving me from the questioning. Katherine and Rose both followed behind me.
"Where are you going? I said later."
"Dumb, dumb, we have the same first period." Rose said.
I forgot that. We entered the classroom which reeked of paint. I sat in my seat next to Shawn and this girl, Rebecca, who practically throws herself at Shawn. Normally I'd catch him peeking at her, but not today.
He smiled at me. I looked down trying to cover the goofy smile that was forming in my face. I pushed hair behind my ear, and bit my lip trying to stop the smile.
...
The class went by quick, and free period was next for the seniors. I walked towards the classroom where we do much of our scheming. Nobody goes there ever, since the windows are tinted black. Everyone's scared to see."Okay, talk." Hailee said.
"Well we went to the beach, and where we went there was no signal, so I took off the earpiece, and mic." I lied.
"Laura we could hear you perfectly." Rose added.
"Well I couldn't, so I figured why not just take it off."
"Okay. Next time you choose somewhere in which you have reception. And I thought he said he was taking you to the movies?" Katherine questioned.
"Yeah. He changed his mind after going to my house to ask me out." I smiled a bit.
"Well no more surprises. We were just informed that prom is going to be on March 17, and we are way behind schedule. He hasn't fallen for you." Katherine informed me.
"That's not all true."
"What?" Rose asked.
"Last night was different. He felt different. He opened up to me... and we... kissed."
A roar of my name covered the room, "Laura!"
"I'm sorry. I got caught up in the moment. He was saying these things and they were so sincere-" I was interrupted by Katherine, "He played you. He got you to do what he wanted. Be more careful Laura, or else you will fall and get hurt."
She seemed so worried for me, but it didn't seem right.
"No. He is falling. When we went for a swim. I purposely got closer to him and felt his heart beating so fast, and it was a while after swimming. It wasn't a let-me-catch-my-breath beating. It was a gosh-she's-close-to-me-I-think-I'm-falling type."
Katherine smiled, "Good job Laura. But next time go somewhere with good reception."
The bell rang and it was time to go to class. "Okay. We'll meet back here for lunch." Hailee said.
I walked by myself to my next period. English. We had a time written essay to do and the teacher usually lets us use our phones for music. So I put on my favorite person on YouTube. SMILE15. He has such an angelic voice. He covers so many beautiful songs. But he never showed his face.
He helped me relax and feel less tense.

Fourth period rolled around. Anatomy with Shawn. We were continuing to dissect the animal.
