12| winter break: pt. 1

The halls crowd with people hugging and saying that they'll miss one another. Laura had no one to miss. The girls really didn't hang out as friends out of the creepy classroom and her bedroom.

They didn't really talk about each other and how much they have in common like normal friends would. All they talked about was destroying Shawn, and like before, she just doesn't want to do it anymore.

It made Laura mad. Thinking these girls want to destroy someone she has come to know. She did notice that he Rose was kind of on edge. Like she was tired of it just as much as Laura was.

She puts all her books and notebooks back into her locker for the break. She even left her bag. She only took out her keys, charger, and phone.

She turned around and saw Katherine. She honestly wanted Katherine to tell her something like all friends would, but she said, "Hey we are meeting up later. You better be there." And she walked away, her red hair swaying.

She started to walk away when she felt an arm pulling her away. Once she was outside she was able to see the person. It was Shawn.

"Damn it Shawn you scared me. I thought some kidnapper was pulling me away." She said. He laughed at her comment.

"Well I just wanted to know what you were doing later."

"Oh well I'm going to be going to the mall. I need to buy an outfit for your New Years dinner with your family."

"That's right. You're finally meeting my parents. They'll love you. Well I'll let you get to it. Uh... call me."  She nods her head. He leaves but kisses her cheek before walking away.

Laura stood there confused. That was he first time ever that he had told her to call her. As she turns to walk toward her car, Hailee and Rose came up to her.

She again hoped that they would tell her something like "Wanna hang?" or "I'll miss you."

"What was that?" Hailee asked.

"He asked me to call him and he kissed my cheek. It's so weird. He has never done that. Ever." She exclaimed.

"Oh my god. He has fallen for you. This is way too early. I was expecting maybe February. What did you do? Girl you are good." Rose said. She smiled at what she had just witnessed, but Laura was only surprised.

"I have just been me. 100% of the time."

"You know, I heard he hasn't been with any girl since you made it official." Hailee raised her eyebrows. "Anyways what are you doing later?"

"I'm going to the mall to choose an outfit for the dinner with his parents. Do you want to come?" She asked. She truly wanted at least one of them to go.

"Ill go. I have nothing to do. We can tell Katherine that we have other plans." Rose smiled.

Laura was excited. This was her first encounter with an actual friend.

"I can't. I have to catch a plane to Hawaii." Hailee bragged,  "Well I'll see you pretty ladies in two weeks."

Hailee hugged both of them. Laura smiled. This was what she wanted. Friends. An actual friendship. It warmed her heart.
