Chapter 2

Alex P.O.V

She looks breathtakingly beautiful in the dress my mother had bought her recently, I assume it's because I mentioned it would look nice on Valerie..
'you were right' I smile and glance over at Val and see that bruise under her jaw, and I clench my hands tighter onto the steering wheel..
'we are talking about that later..for now. We are going to the mall' I sigh loudly causing Valerie to look over at me, her eyes shinning her cheeks are tinted pink..
'is she..blushing?' I reach my hand over and feel her cheeks and for head.
"Well you aren't warm.." her cheeks turn darker pink and I smile running my fingers over her warming cheek.
"I promise..she won't hurt you again..I won't let her." She looks down and intertwines her finger in her lap.
"I know you wouldn't..but..I can't leave.. I'm all she has Alex.." My jaw clenches and I fix my eyes back onto the road.
"Valerie please..if she touches you or anything again... I am begging you to call me instantly. I'll be there in minutes I don't care if I have to speed. I'll even get a room at the hotel up the road from you.." I notice her wiping at her eyes and I rest my right hand on her knee and give a gentle squeeze. She looks up at me with glossy eyes, I inwardly feel like my only light in the dark was smashed, but then a small flicker grows.
"Okay I promise.. I'll call you immediately." I sigh giving her a soft smile, and pull into the parking lot of the mall. She instantly brightens up and Pat's at her cheeks and eyes..

Val's P.O.V

Alex has a point, that's why I promised him. He always is so sweet to me..always complimenting me.. always spoils me..
'You like him' I shake my head profusely to rid my mind of these thoughts.
Alex gets out and walks over to my side to let me out.
'he always does that' He grabs my hand and helps me out while I fix my dress, he holds me to him, and my heart starts to race. I stand still and slowly snake my arms around his waist, he kisses the top of my head.
"I want you to come live with me.." I inhale sharply, and step back looking at him.
"Look..I-I appreciate the jes-" he cuts me off by kissing me softly.
I still for a moment in shock, then slowly I return the gentle kiss. He kisses me once more and leans his for head against mine.
"I love you Valerie.. I have for years sense the moment I meet you.." He runs his thumb over my cheek, I lean my head into his hand sighing deeply.
"Me..me too" He holds me in his arms again and laughs softly to himself. I lay my head on his chest smiling to myself.
'He likes me.." He suddenly pulls away grinning, I smile at his grin.
"Well let's go shopping." He grabs me by my waist and we start walking towards the entrance of the mall. While we walk I lean my head on his arm and he looks down at me smiling.
'His smile gives me butterflies..'

He leads me into Victoria secret, a blush creeping up my cheeks.
He leans down to my ear.
"Let's get you some clothes" he leads me past the underwear and bras to there pink collection. I sigh relieved, he glances at me a smirk hinting his lips.
"Oh don't worry your getting some of those too, I figured you would rather do that part yourself" He gives me his goofy grin, and pulls out a light pink hoodie and holds it up to me, he tisks and nods putting it over his arm.
"I like it, pick one out Dove" I turn to the hoodies and pull out a black hoodie, he looks at it and nods in approval.
"I liked it too" I tease and place it over my own arm, we walk around the store and pick out a few shirts and leggings and he leaves me to go look at something so I can pick out some personal things.
"Behave yourself Alex..don't go over board knowing you we have more shops to hit" he grins being guilty, and kisses my forhead before heading to the other end of the store to the..well adult section.
'oh boy..' I laugh nervously and turn my attention to the undergarments.
Grabbing a pink and black pair I look it over and grab it in my size L what can I say I'm kinda chubby..
"Need any help cutie" I turn my head and decline, the boy sneers and storms off, leaving me confused.
"What???" I stare after the boy confused, shaking my head I return my attention to the underwear. Grabbing up a few others I liked, I went over and grabbed a few matching bras and a plain black in size B38. I meet Alex over at the in appropriate night time wear, and he holds up a light pink lace and silk nightgown and holds it to me and looks it over.
"No way..not wearing that Alex" I scold him handing over the small basket with my undergarments I picked out. He holds it and places the laungerie back
"You're right you'd look better in my shirts." I blush and punch his arm softly. He chuckles and kisses my cheek tenderly.
"Let's go check out" I nod and start for the cashregister that's open he follows and places everything on the counter.
"Hey doll, find everything okay?" I smile and nod sheepishly. She gives me a gentle smile and quickly rings up the personal items and hands the bag to me. I smile thankfully at her and she nods. She finishes ringing everything and hands the other bag to Alex. She tells him the charge and he swips his card. I cringe at the amount..86 dollars...
'that's too much..' he notices my mood change and squeezes my hand.
"You deserve everything" the cashier smiles aweing at us and wishes us a great rest of the day.

He takes me to this fancy dress shop and pulls me to the elegant end of the store and has me pick out a few to try on.
"Don't look at price tags just the dresses" I sigh and look at a few and grab 3 off the rack, Alex comes over with 2 other dresses, I groan and he tells me to stop whining and try them on.
"Fine.." I reluctantly walk into the dressing room and close the door stripping out of my clothes I slip the first dress on, looking into the mirror I stare in awe at the elegant creme dress which hugs my figure nicely, but not to tightly to restrict my breathing. I turn around and look at the dress from behind it has loose waves of fabric on the chest, and it's shoulder straps have gold and gem embellished straps that wrap over the shoulders and drap the dresses fabric down my back..low on my back to the lower mid of my back.
"Are you gonna give me a walk way show or not?" Alex teases, I blush and pick the bottom of the dress up and walk out, looking around nervously. He sits up straight with a wide eyed look, I blush and let the dress fall back down to the ground as I turn around so he can see the whole dress. I hear him rustle and breath deeply.
"It looks stunning on you Valerie" I smile girlishly and walk back into the changing stall letting my hips sway a little extra, I hear him inhale sharply and I push my chin up happy.
"Next.." He says sounding closer to the stall..
'strange..aw well' I slip the creme dress off and place it back on it's hanger and I put on a dark blue dress with gems embellishing the chest part and slowly fading away as it trails down the chest to the mid stomach. I run my fingers over the fabric and it's a soft silky material. I turn around and look at the back and notice the zipper..
"Shit.." I curse and turn to the stall curtains.. I turn around and back out covering the dress with the curtain Alex steps behind me running his hands down my sides to my back zipping the back up as if reading my mind..
'If only he knew I wanted him to be unzipping it..' I shake my head out of those thoughts and let the curtain drop, he steps back and let's me turn to face him
I stand there fidgeting with my fingers and he smiles.
"Get them there gorgeous on you. We can go to another store for more formal dinner date dresses" I smile and step back into the stall after he unzips the dress. I quickly take it off and put it back on it's hanger. He takes the dresses we are getting and goes to pay for them while I get dressed.

We left the store and he took me to this jewlery place to get some necklaces and earrings. He asks to see a simple dimond necklace that has a heart surrounding the dimond I stare at it, and Alex smiles at me.
"I've wanted to get it for you for a while now" I look up at him and hug him tightly.
"It's beautiful Alex!" He grins and kisses the top of my head. He turns me around and puts the necklace over my head and around my neck to clasp it. I run my fingers over the necklace and smile while tears start to fill my eyes.
"Please don't cry Valerie" Alex whines planting a gentle kiss on my lips, I whimper and kiss him back.
"I'm sorry it's just you and your family have spoiled me for years.." He smiles softly and pays for the jewlery.

On our way out of the mall, Alex and I stop at the food court and we get Chinese.
"Hi, yes. May we get an order of the orange chicken with rice and an order of your General Tsao chicken with rice? And two medium lemonades?"
