He leapt to his feet and chased after her in the forest. “Blossom!” He shouted. “I’m sorry! Please don’t leave yet!” Blossom crouched behind a tall tree with her hands over her mouth, praying he wouldn’t hear her sharp breaths. Her heart and mind were racing against one another. How could she face him after basically rejecting him? “I hate him.” She thought. “But I also didn’t want to leave…” Why must this be so irrational? She tried weighing out the pros and cons of this situation, but nothing seemed to have a good ending. “Where are you!?” Brick proceeded to check in bushes and up in the trees, then he heard a barely audible noise coming from behind a tree. He stood by the tree, then peered behind it. He saw Blossom hunched over behind the tree, hand over heart. “Brick…” She choked out. “Why do I feel this way? I… My heart feels like it’s about to burst.” He reached out to her, and helped her to her feet. “I think you like me too Pinky.” She walked backwards until her back was to the tree. “But that has to be incorrect! A hero and a villain should never have a relationship.” He stood silent for a while, then approached her. He placed his right hand on the tree by her head, blocking her escape. He had a sadness deep within his eyes. “Can’t we at least try?” Her heart was doing back flips at this point. They remained in that position for a quiet moment, the soothing wind swirling around them. Blossom kept trying to work out scenarios of how a relationship between them would work. “How..?” His sadness soon changed to determination, “It can be a secret.” Blossom’s eyes widened, “Like, from everyone, even our friends and family..?” Her gaze cast downward. “I don’t like secrets.” She looked back up at him, so unsure about what she should say. He stared into her light pink irises. He then places her hand on his chest. “Do you feel it?” His heart was pounding like crazy, and she could feel it pulsate through her palm. “I can…” Brick overlapped his hand on hers. “This secret can be revealed in a later time Bloss. For now it can be our special thing.” She nodded. Brick then began to smile, “I’m so ecstatic… Blossom, will you go out with me?” She peered down to the ground. “Can I think about it for a bit? This is all so sudden for me…” Brick nodded, so sure she would say yes after some time. “Take your time, I know I put a lot on you.” Blossom gave a small smile, then they both took off towards the sky.
Brick had dropped Blossom off a few blocks away from her street, so their families wouldn’t spot them. She felt confused on how she still should still feel about him. He was a villain, and player after all. Blossom sighed inwardly, then proceeded to walk towards her home. Clutching her phone in her hand, she read the messages she had received the past couple of days. Some from her few friends, a lot from her sisters, and one from her father. Some just said “Hi” while her sisters asked where she was, if she was okay, that they’re either hugging or killing her when they find her. The girl smiled, then responded to all the messages. Buttercup had responded immediately, “BLOSSOM! UR AlIVE!” Blossom laughed then stopped after reading the next message. “I’m going to kill you when I find you. >:(” She knew there’d be more. Next to respond was Bubbles. “Wahhhhh! Blossom you’re okay! I thought you had ran away…T-T” “I’m okay, just had lost my phone for a bit.” Blossom sent back. She had finally reached her house, and had quietly opened the door. When she stepped inside she was soon tackled to the ground. “Blossom I was so worried!” Bubbles started to cry. “Don’t EVER make us scared like that again.” Buttercup pulled Bubbles off of Blossom, then proceeded to shake the redhead violently. “Why are you guys so worried, didn’t you ever check my room when you got home?” “No! We thought you were still out!” Buttercup yelled. “And we didn’t see you in school between classes so we went looking for you.” the blonde had chimed in. The raven haired girl stopped shaking her sister. “Where were you anyway?” Blossom turned pink, “I-I was with a friend.” She stammered. Bubbles gasped, “ Were you with a boy?” “No! Just an old friend I haven’t seen in awhile.” The two sisters looked skeptical. “Whatever nerd, just don’t lose your phone again.” Buttercup skulked off into her room, glad her sister was safe. Bubbles clung to her sister once again, “I’m never letting you go.” “Do I smell something burning?” Blossom pondered out loud. Bubbles scurried off into the kitchen to finish dinner. Blossom breathed a sigh of relief, then scampered up to her room. Closing the door, she collapsed on the bed exhausted from two tough days in a row. She shut her eyes then was slowly lulled to sleep by the sound of silence.
Brick was jumping from rooftop to rooftop, he was pumped that Blossom would even consider being his girlfriend. He soon began to remember the day he had started to fall for her.
It was springtime of 20xx the cherry blossoms were falling gracefully through the warm air. Brick was ten years old, trying to jam a stick down an ant hill in the Townsville Park. “C’mon you stupid stick…” The sun had rose high in the sky and was now starting to burn his back. He said a curse under his breath, then made his way to a cherry blossom tree to escape the sun. He stopped midway, seeing his pink nemesis reading a book under the tree he wanted to sit by. He began to smirk, intent to bother her to some degree. She dropped the book in her lap, then lifted her chin the sky, feeling the slight breeze. She untied the red ribbon that held her hair in place and sat it beside her. Her hair began to swirl with the wind. Her bright orange locks like flames dancing, and petals were swirling around her frame. He felt weird as his face grew warm. He knew he was not starting to like a girl, was he?
Since that day he would follow blossom around without her knowledge. He would flirt with other girls while she was around just to make her jealous, but she never seemed to care. She would just roll her eyes at him and saunter past. He knew he’d have to have her someday, but whenever he would try to flirt with her, it came out as an insult or pervy remark. Every time she would look furious, and he would mentally slap himself because it sounded so much better in his head. That day the sub took Blossom’s phone was the day he would really give his all for this girl. After the school day was over, and the sub had locked the classroom and left, Brick had picked the lock and quietly snuck in. He rifled through the surprisingly unlocked drawers and retrieved her phone. He then had crept out of the room and somehow locked the door once more. Running out of the school, he made his way to her house. Then, after their encounter and arrangement, he had been taking confident strides to his home, when her phone had buzzed. He was curious, so he glanced at the notifications. His eyes started to glow bright red when he saw some guy had texted her “S’up ;P?” He knew that was supposed to be flirty, but he calmed himself, knowing she would kill him if he went through her phone. Plus, he wasn’t her boyfriend yet, so he couldn’t confront her about it. Exhaling sharply, he shoved the phone in his pocket, then proceeded to his home again.
Now he was in his room, staring at his phone. The two had exchanged numbers, and he was contemplating on texting her. He thought he shouldn’t it’d be too soon for her, and if she felt pressured, she’d reject him completely. He sighed and placed his phone on his dresser. His brothers had heard Brick pacing back and forth in his room, and they found it annoying. Butch the dark raven haired brother, had said many curses under his breath, so the redhead would not hear him. Butch had his hair spiked up and a torn sleeve tank top on with ripped black jeans. His forest green eyes scanned the text messages he and Buttercup sent back and forth about their next soccer tournament. “Boomer go tell Brick to shut up and stop pacing.” Boomer stopped making his dinner and protested. “Why don’t you do it Butch? You know he’ll smack me in the back of the head if I go in his room.” Boomers dark blue eyes glared at Brick’s door. His sandy hair fell out of place and he slicked it back into place with one hand. “Because I don’t wanna be smacked doofus.” The two continued to argue over who should confront Brick. Brick felt irritated at this point listening to his two brothers argue. He ripped open his door and shouted, “Will you two shut up!?” Brick pinched the bridge of his nose and went to the fridge. The blue and green ruff went silent, then Butch spoke up. “Hey bro, are you okay?” Boomer chimed in next. “If you wanna talk there’s always me man.” Brick scoffed, “I’m fine you two. It’s just that being patient sucks.”
