chapter eighteen

       Blossom woke up at 6:30 AM. She rolled over, and hugged a pillow close to her body. She furrowed her brows, and groaned. Swinging her pink comforter off, she rolled out of bed. She scratched her head and yawned. As sleep left her system, the thoughts of last night suddenly came to her. She gasped, then the corners of her mouth turned up. She was glad that her and Brick could share something that was so personal. She never once thought that her first would be with Brick Jojo. In fact, she thought he’d be the last person in the universe she’d do. She rubbed the crust out of her eyes, and got ready for her shower. She shedded her clothing, and laid Brick’s hoodie on the bathroom counter. Water rained down her body. Steam ran out of the shower. She couldn’t wait to see Brick again. She stepped out of the tub, and wrapped a towel around her body.She grabbed her pajamas and Brick’s hoodie. She knew she’d be the only one home, so she just walked back to her room to pick out an outfit. She chose to wear a sleeveless turtleneck shirt with ripped blue jeans, and her pink high tops. She waltzed down the stairs with his hoodie in hand. She placed the hoodie in her backpack, and went to look for breakfast.

     Brick couldn’t sleep after he’d woken up at four. After he’d gotten home, he was way too pumped to sleep again. He’d just been exercising for the past two hours. He took a shower so he wasn’t stinky for his lady. Then he dance walked to the kitchen. He was whistling while making breakfast. His brothers stumbled into the kitchen. “Why are you up so early?” Boomer asked while rubbing his face. Brick glanced back to look at them. “Just wanted to make breakfast this morning.” Butch sat at the table. “What? Did you get laid last night or somethin’?” Brick didn’t answer him. They didn’t need to know. But he did want to tell someone so… “As a matter of fact, I did.” The boys were awake now. “Yo no way! The ice queen finally gave it up?” Brick gave Butch a dirty look. “Don’t call her an ice queen. She’s sweet.” Butch rolled his eyes. Boomer piped up. “So, did she actually want to, or did you pressure her?” Brick stopped making breakfast, and turned to look at them. “I would never pressure her to do something she didn’t want to do. I love her too much.” Boomer raised his hands in defense. “Okay bro, just wondering.” Brick turned back to what he was doing. “Do you guys want scrambled or sunny side up?” They all wanted scrambled. Good, he didn’t want to make anything else. As they ate breakfast together, they caught up with one another. It’s not like they hung out together much anymore. Ever since they all started dating the girls, that’s who they wanted to spend most of their time with. By the time they’d finished breakfast, it was time to go to school. They all decided to walk together. It wasn’t like they did walk together often anymore. Brick walked ahead of the two and trotted to the front of the school. He waited for Blossom, like usual.

      Blossom flew to the school at supersonic speed. She couldn’t wait any longer to see her boyfriend. She saw him waiting for her at the front like usual. She wanted to beat him there someday. He saw her land, and waved to her. She was about to run to him, when an arm trapped her from moving. “Hey there.” A tall muscular boy grinned down at her. She made a disgusted face. “Hi?” He moved his arm. “I’ve seen you around school, and I’ve been needing a cute face to show me around here. So what do you say? Show me around?” She laughed. “Sorry dude, but I’m not interested. I have a great boyfriend. He’s right over there.” Blossom pointed to Brick, and the random guy turned to look at him. Brick was fuming. The guy didn’t seem to care. “You’re dating Brick Jojo? Listen toots, I’ve heard not so great things about him. He’s pretty smoothe with the ladies if you catch my drift.” Blossom placed a hand on her hip. “I’m guessing you’re new here, judging by what you’ve heard, and your asking me to ‘show you around.’ But Brick and I have been dating for almost a year, and we spend almost everyday together. He’s been great, so I don’t need you or anyone else. Have a nice day.” Blossom ran away from the dude and jumped into Brick’s embrace. Brick kissed Blossom with a passion. He made sure the random guy could see it. “So, what did he want?” Blossom planted a kiss on his cheek. “He tried asking me out, but I turned him down hard. I even showed him you.” She cuddled Brick. He could feel his jealousy leave his body. “ Oh, okay.” He hugged her back and enjoyed her embrace. The random guy passed by them to enter the school, and Brick glared at him. Blossom checked her watch and pulled Brick into the school. They stood outside her class and he planted a kiss on her forehead. “I love you babe. See you in a couple hours.” Blossom beamed. “I love you too, Brick. See you.”
