Reunion

We're in our Meister class again. Last time I arrived late but this time I actually got here pretty early.

"Alrighty...let's get this over with." Mrs. Light says. "I told you all about the different types of meisters yesterday so...now you can pick the one you want! For those who are unsure...just wait."

Ok... I'm definitely one of the unsure people. My own abilities don't really fit the description for any of these meisters...

All of a sudden, the entire room or maybe even the entire building begins to shake and rumble as if an earthquake was taking place.

"Everyone stay calm." The teacher says. "All we need to do is-"

I immediately feel myself being picked up out of my seat with someone's arms going across my back and under my legs, almost in a princess carry like way. Looking up, I notice the person carrying me has dark blue hair going back and forth across their face, revealing somewhat small blue eyes.

Rin...

I see a tall dark green plant root wrapped around the academy for what seems like a split second but then loops around as if it has a mind of its own.

I hear feet hitting the ground and realize that Rin and I are now outside of the building. He puts me down, letting me get on my own two feet.

"You're ok, right?" He says.

"Yeah, I'm good. Thanks, Rin. I owe you one." I say.

"Well...what do we have here?" An approaching figure says.

No...that can't be...

A tall man with white hair and grayish silver eyes comes into view.

"The spawn of Satan and a demon's vessel... I certainly didn't expect to be put up against you two." He says.

"And I didn't expect you to come here." I say.

"Of course you didn't."

"Hey." Rin whispers. "You know this guy?"

I wish I didn't.

"Yeah." I say, looking straight ahead at the man in front of me. "Let's just say he's an unwanted visitor."

"Oh, how hurtful." He says, putting his hand on his heart.

"Maru, what do you want?" I ask. "I know you came here for a reason."

"Oh, wouldn't you like to know."

I see you're still the same; you're just as irritating as ever.

"Look...you're going to tell me what you're doing here...now."

"I don't think so." He says, lifting an arm.

A similar but smaller looking plant root wraps around his arm and comes towards us.

I don't think I have a choice this time...

"Aspida!" I yell, a purple barrier appearing.

It clashes with the shield and smaller stems spread around it almost like roots in the ground.

"The Yin I know wouldn't have even considered doing that." Maru says.

"I've changed since then."

I probably would've already been kicked out if I hadn't...

"Káthe fytó pou o ouránios Patéras mou den échei fytefteí tha rizoméni epáno!"

Just as the words come out of my mouth, the smaller stems disintegrate.

"You know what comes next, don't you?" Riyon says with a laugh. "Rin will-"

"Shut up!"

The oversized plant coming from Maru's arm falls and I let the shield down. It shatters like glass and slowly drifts away.

"You should go, Rin." I say. "Make sure the others are safe."

"Are you gonna be alright by yourself? I don't wanna-"

"Just go. I'll be fine. Besides, Maru hasn't even gotten any stronger. I'd say we're at least even."

"Alright..." Rin smiles and runs toward the school building. "I'll see ya later!"

Yeah, you will. Hopefully...
