"He's a demon. I don't think either of you have the strength to defeat him."
Riyon...
"Why'd you decide to start back talking to me? You could've just stayed quiet. You know that, right?" I say.
"Of course I do." Riyon says.
"Then why are you talking?"
"Because I want to."
"Ok, let's see... I know you're a half demon, Rin...but what are you?" Amaimon points a finger at me. "I don't think you're a demon but your not a normal human either..."
Rin's a...demon?
Amaimon's words bring back a memory from a few days ago. It was something Riyon said...
"Your new friend, Rin. He has something in common with us. Or should I say me?"
So that's what Riyon meant? That he and Rin are similar because they're both demons?
"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask.
"I...uh... I meant to..." He sighs. "I'm sorry. I'll explain it to you later."
"Ok, that's fine..." I say. "Please don't think I'm mad at you or anything... I don't have the right to be. After all, I'm not that much different from you."
For some reason, Rin pokes my forehead as if we're little kids playing around. And as usual, he has that big bright smile on his face.
"For someone who's nickname's Demon Girl you sure don't act like a demon." He says.
"You don't act like one either." I say, putting a finger on his forehead in return. I use my hand to move Rin's bangs around. "You have a big forehead."
"W-what?!"
"Cool it! I'm just joking!" I laugh. "Did you really believe that?"
"Uh...no..." He says, looking down at the ground.
"Hmm... Is she your girlfriend, Rin?" Amaimon asks.
Girlfriend...?
"N-no way!" We both respond at the same time and we look at each other, realizing that we're both blushing.
"Good. I just might make her my own." Amaimon says.
Wait a sec...
"You're not making me your anything! You got that?!" I yell.
"Why not? I'm stronger than the both of you and there's nothing you can do about it."
"He's right. Can't you sense it? His power?" Riyon says. "He's a Demon King, Yin. He'll kill you, both of you."
"I'm starting to get tired of this." Rin says, sounding irritated.
"I... I don't know if you should fight him." I say.
"Huh? Why?"
"Just...let me fight him." I begin to walk forward, setting my sights on Amaimon. "Alright... Let's get this-" Before I can even get out my whole sentence, a hand grabs my arm, making me stop almost instantly. I know it's Rin.
"No..." He says. "Back when you were fighting Maru... Do you know how useless I felt when you told me to leave? I'm not doing that again. You got hurt the last time, didn't you?"
"Yeah, but...I had a reason for telling you to leave."
"I know. I just don't like the fact that you got hurt and that I couldn't do anything about it until the next time I saw you... Just let me do it, ok?" He smiles again. He turns and walks toward Amaimon with a now very serious look on his face. "You wanted a battle...so I'll give you one!"
