A Decision

"Food's done!" Rin yells.

"Whoa, wait a second, you made this?" I say, gazing at the food in front of me.

"Yeah. Now, come on and eat!" Rin begins taking plates and putting them on the table.

"I'll help you." Without even waiting on Rin to respond, I start setting up the rest of the plates. "Hey, I'll fix your plate for you... What did you want me to put on it first?"

"Uh... I'll do it, Yin. Just take a seat with Yukio." Rin smiles again but I can't help but sense something off with him.

"Alright then..."

I walk off and sit at the table with Yukio. Rin begins to put the food on our plates and then, once he's done, he finally fixes his own plate. He sits down with a happy expression on his face.

"Enjoy!" He says.

I look down at the food in front of me; there's sliced beef, leafy vegetables, udon, and shirataki noodles. It just reminds me of all the effort it must have taken to make this.

"Thank you." Me and Yukio thank Rin at the same time but we both ignore what happened and begin using our chopsticks to eat.

This is really good... I just might know what dish this is...

"Rin, you're a very good cook. But I gotta ask...just what did you make?"

"You could probably guess..." He laughs and scratches his head.

Just as I thought.

"It's sukiyaki, right?"

"Yep, you guessed it."

Well, at least I can say that all three of us have something else in common.

Not long after we eat, Yukio leaves after saying that he has some stuff to do. So, as of now, it's just me and Rin.

I guess I can use this time...

"Hey, Rin, you know when we first met and you saw my temptaint?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Think back. What did the girl with purple hair say?"

Come on, Rin. Figure it out and remember.

"You mean Izumo? Oh, she brought up...the stuff that happened to you...and your nickname." He says.

"Yeah..." I say.

There's an awkward silence between us. I don't like it but I don't know what to say now that things are like this.

Should I just come out with it right now?

But Rin speaks before I can even say anything.

"Well, you didn't have control over what happened to you then...so don't worry about it. You don't have to explain." Rin says. His blue eyes and expression show immense sympathy. I'm willing to accept it...but not as a way to get out of telling the truth.

"Because of my...condition, or whatever you wanna call it, it's a bit harder for me to-"

"Oh, I see. You're gonna tell your demon friend Rin, huh?"

And...he speaks yet again. Riyon's words don't even shock me anymore. But, I just decide to answer his question. It's pretty...indirect though.

"Rin, I guess you could say that I'm sharing a body."
