Okay so we can see with the redcloaks that the severed bond with bile bonds results in some, well mutations. We also know through Meilin and Rollan's mom that those with a natural bond who took the bile where not affected by the weird transformation thing. All that happened was the bonding sickness no longer existed.

Shane does not have a natural bond (which also makes him the first in his bloodline to not have a spirit animal (or something like that)) hence the crocodile eyes.

When a bile bond was severed with the animal not in passive the animal is free and also extracts revenge. When the animal is freed but in passive we see the redcloaks (ex. Karmo's spirit animal was in passive, the tattoo was itchy) abilities form.

Shane has the tattoo still and it is mentioned in the book of Shane. NOW FOR MY BEEF.

Shane is freed of the bile by Tellun. When Shane was freed Grahv was in passive state, so in theory that means that Shane could not summon Grahv. It would be impossible because the bond no longer exists.

Okay so maybe it didn't count because Gerathon wasn't dead yet, but STILL. Tellun broke the bond and freed Shane. In that sense then Grahv should not have been able to fight at the evertree.

The bile forces bonds, once it is severed there is no bond.

Even in the game when you free a spirit animal from a conqueror, the animal can no longer be used by said conqueror.

The same should go for Shane.
