Deep into the depths of the Ark, amidst all of the mundane human tasks and the immense feeling of living an adequate existence, two girls could be found, having the time of their lives working with their metal and tools.
"Raven, will you pass the screwdriver?" Nova asked in the sweetest voice she could possibly muster.
"Get it yourself." Raven retorted.
"I can't, I hurt my hand giving you the middle finger." Nova fired back.Raven huffed catastrophically but she couldn't say no to Nova. No one could.
"I swear to God Nova, you're the laziest person on the Ark.""Well, this lazy person just finished reconstructing the belt grinder, completed your fuse circuit and.....fixed the heating system in our room so we don't freeze our asses off tonight" nova gloated shamelessly.
"Touché."
"Speaking of recent accomplishments, you and Finn could have kept it down last night, you know how I feel about my sleep." Nova smirked.
Raven was about to reply with a snarky remark when the pounding of boots bounced off of the steel walls.
"What the hell is that?" Raven questioned.
But before Nova could answer, guards broke down the door to the Mechanics' office, batons and weapons in hand.
"Nova Rivers, you are under arrest for the construction of and unauthorised weapon intended to cause mass destruction."
"What! No! She didn't do anything wrong!" Raven screamed while two guards held her back.
"Raven. I'm ok. Go to the moon
for me okay?" Nova cried, letting the guards lead her out of the room without struggle.Nova looked back at her best friend. Raven was still fighting against the guards, heavy tears falling down her face.
Nova and Raven have been together for 16 years. They weren't just best friends, they were sisters. And they were being ripped apart.
Once and for all.
