Chapter 6

Cleaning a wound. That's what Nova spent the rest of her glorious morning doing. She wasn't at all equipped for the task but Octavia insisted that it was her.

"So I hear the journey for food went well?"
"Perfect."
The girls made eye contact with each other knowing they couldn't have a decent conversation with the Blake shaped shadow towering over the pair.

Nova winced as Octavia let out a wimper of pain. Bellamy tensed up at the mere sight of his sisters wound.
"What the hell was it?"
"I don't know. The others said it looked like a giant snake."
"Oh fantastic. The ground comes with its own Dinosaurs'." Nova jokes causing Octavia to laugh. Bellamy looked as solum as ever.

"You could have been killed." He said disapprovingly.
"She would have been if Jasper didn't jump in to pull her out." Clarke interrupts the already awkward situation.
"You guys leaving? I'm coming too." Octavia says hopefully but was stopped my mother of the year.
"No way not again."
"He's right. Your leg will just slow us down."
Nova mouthed "bossy" to Octavia to make her feel better.

"I'm actually here for you two." Clarke says to Bellamy and Nova.
"I here you have a gun?"
Bellamy lifted his shirt to reveal a gun tucked into his waistband.
"Good. Nova, you're small, if they have Jasper in a cell, you'll be able to get to him. Plus I here you're fast."
Nova stands tall and salutes Clarke.
"Nova Rivers, ready to risk life to save stranger." She mocks in a solider tone.
"Follow me."
"And why would I do that?"
"Because you want them to follow you. And right now, they're thinking only one of us is scared."
Nova smirked at Bellamy's defeat and gave Octavia a quick hug.
"I'll try not to get eaten."
"You better." She whispers back with a smile.

"Murphy. Come with me. Atom. My sister doesn't leave camp. Is that clear?"
"I don't need a baby sitter."
"Any body touches her, they answer to me. Let's go."
"Hey, if all else fails, hit him with a rock." Nova winks before turning and heading into the Forrest with her companions.

For hours Nova trudged through miles of thick shrubbery. Her size meant she had it easier that the rest as she didn't have to duck through the hanging branches. Which also means she was in front, moving faster than the others.
"You really are fast." Clarke commented.
"Yeah well, I couldn't fix the communication system on the Drop ship. The solars are fried. I had to be good for something right?"
"You did everything you could." Wells complimented making Nova smile. She slowed down to walk in between the pair and emerged the threesome into a conversation about the fractured earth wire that maybe fixable if she had the tools.

"Hey, what's the rush? You don't survive a spear to the heart." Bellamy Blake interrupted.
"Put the gun away Bellamy."
"Why don't you do something about it."
"Okay, why don't we all tone down the male bravado and find the kid with the googles." Nova interjects between the rowing boys.
"Jasper screamed when they moved him. If the spear hit his heart he'd have died instantly. Doesn't mean we have time to waste."

"As soon as you take this wristband off we can go."
"The only way the Ark is going to think that I'm dead is if I'm dead."
"Brave princess."
"Why don't you find your own nickname." Finn appeared out of the trees and slug a heavy arm around Nova. "Call this a rescue party?  Why don't you split up? Cover more ground. Clarke and Nova with me."

"She stays with us Collins." Murphy ordered which made Nova cringe. Now he wants to be my friend.
Finn was about to protest before Clarke cut in.
"It's probably for the best. Wells and Murphy is a bad idea."
Finn sighed before walking ahead with Clarke and Wells.

"Do I not get a say in my travel buddies." Nova shouted after them.
"Looks like you're stuck with us baby doll." Bellamy smirked.
Nova sighed catastrophically before stomping forwards. Leaving the two boys to catch up.

"So, why did your parents get floated?"
Bellamy asked bluntly. Nova had somehow found to be stuck in the middle of her companions.
"You know Blake, I don't necessarily like you. So, the chances of me telling you are slim."

"They were Mechanics too. The got caught dealing parts." Murphy explained without a smile. He knew that the topic was a sensitive one.
"You know Murph, you're starting to get in my bad books too."

"How do you guys know each other anyway?" Bellamy questioned.
"Unfortunately his cell was opposite mine, and our lunch tables happen to coincide. For a year and a half I had to deal with his wining." She smiled at Murphy and easily found a sense of forgiveness rise.

The sound of flowing water sent a buzz through Nova. She ran to a small ledge to find a shallow pool of clear liquid.
The girl stood in admiration before flying though the air and landing into the cold water.
If they wanted war. She'd bring it.
Nova held her breath and let the water submerge her completely. The sensation was nothing like Nova felt before.
Bellamy and Murphy stood laughing at the ledge where Nova once stood. Their smiled disappeared in moments when Nova didn't come back up for air.
They both trudged through the water to "rescue " the girl.
When Nova seen the partition of the water she jumped in the air again, Leaving the boys wet from head to toe.
"Aw, you came in after me. Such gentlemen." Nova smirked as the boys wiped away water from their faces.
"Not funny Nova." Bellamy scolded using her real name.
"Strange, I thought it was hilarious."
