The journey that was supposed to last a couple of weeks turned into two years.

Muriel thought back about what had happened.

Once Muriel had said her goodbyes to everyone, including her father, she'd taken off on her horse Ava and arrived in Narnia faster than she expected. When they'd arrived her body was sore, the muscles in her body screamed for some rest after the many days of sitting in the saddle.

Some time after her department something awful happened.

The day started normal and after a long day of riding Muriel freed Ava from all her riding gear. The beautiful white mare rolled through the grass, the soft earth beneath her did feel good after a long day of running. Muriel found some branches to light a fire and after she successfully set up a little camp she sat down to let her body rest.

The next morning the rustling of some bushes woke her. But when she gained enough courage to see if anything was hiding she found nothing.

She continued her journey and stumbled across a dense forest. It would've taken too many days to travel around it. Luckily Muriel succeeded in convincing Ava to continue their journey. But Ava became tense and Muriel knew her horse felt a mysterious presence, for she felt it too.

But there was no other way than through the dense forest and so they went. With the trees that reached high to the sky and the only sound of Ava's hooves came a feeling she couldn't really describe. It was overwhelming, it felt like something or someone was watching them but every time that she turned around the presence dissappeared.

After a days of traveling through the forest something happened and Muriel just happened to let her guard down. She was just freshening up, at a lake she'd found, when it happened. Suddenly there were two riders behind her, she immediately knew they were Telmarines by the silver masks they were wearing and the sword and bow that were pointing at her.

"I wouldn't take that sword out of that sheath if I were you, girl. Or my friend here will shoot an arrow right between your eyes." He spoke with a Telmarine accent. She frowned and slowly moved her hand away from the handle of her sword.

"What do you want." Her voice was steady and sounded strong, but Muriel knew that she was scared of what could happen next.

"We know what you are, Princess. It's a shame Miraz wants you alive, you'd be a good target practice.

Muriel clenched her fists and bit her tongue, a witty comment would certainly make them want to shoot her.

"Tell Miraz I won't be visiting any time soon." And with that she pulled the sword from the sheath on her hip and quickly jumped behind the nearest tree.

She heard the arrow fly and settle in the bark of the tree she was hiding behind. She took one of the daggers that hung on her belt and quickly tossed it at the Telmarine with the crossbow. The man fell off his horse with a dagger in his arm as he yelled out in pain. She stepped away from behind the tree, the sword in her hand, and saw that the other Telmarine had gotten of his horse. Good, she thought, that only made it easier.

After a short fight which was easily won by Muriel she fled to Ava and, sensing that these men couldn't be the only soldiers out here, quickly galloped away.

But it hadn't taken long before some more riders were following her. They were close and shooting arrows at her while yelling at her to stop. 'Well' she thought 'They're not doing a really good job at keeping me alive'

Muriel was trying to come up with a plan to outrun these men when suddenly an arrow settled in Ava's thigh and the horse and Muriel both went falling. The hard ground knocked the wind out of Muriel, a groan escaped her lips as she tried to stand up. The riders had almost catched up with her and she looked around in panic.
