I walked down the hall of the hospital.
Kacie waved while she helped a kid down from a wheel chair.
"Alexis i need you to take these to the same room as the rest" mrs. Anderson said.
She held petunias now.
"Where are all these coming from?" I ask.
"I really don't care just take them and don't ask questions" she said.
She looked wore out.
I walked to the room my converse squeaking occasionly.

I felt someone grab my shoulder.
I turned and saw a guy with long black hair it was pulled back in to a pony tail.
His green eyes studied mine.
His stubby fingers clamped down on my shoulder.
He was tall but lean.
He was musculor but not.
"Can i help you with something" i ask putting a sweet tone in to my words.
The guy looked middle aged.
"Yes whose do those flowers go to?" He asked.
"Sorry for the patients safety we can't tell you" i said the words rolling off my tongue.

It was protocol to say that unless they were family or nurses then we can't share the patients information.
"Oh i see" he said. His jaw was clenched.
He slowly let my shoulder go.
I turned and walked away.
When i looked back he was following me.
I made a sharp turn then another.
I zig zagged went up a flight of stairs down the next and turned right.
I looked back.
I had lost the guy.

I walked to room 302.
I opened the door and slid in i closed it quickly.
Who was that guy?
Why did he want to know.
I walk over the nightstand i switch the flowers out and put them on the table.
I walk over to the door.
"Where did she go!" I hear someone say angrily.
The same guy who had questioned me about the flowers.

I backed away from the door.
I turned and walked to the sleeping boy.
"Please you have to answer me do something! There's a guy looking for you. Why?!" I pleaded.
I heard the lock turn.

"A..ange..angel" i turn and look at the boy's moving lips.
"What?" I ask.
Angel was that the guys name?
The lock clicked and the door swung open.
I turned and looked at the door.
The guy stood there.
"You tried to out smart me" he sneered.
"Sir calm down if you don't i will have to get security to escort you from the building" i said.
He laughed.
"You really think i care? It took me years to find him" he pointed to the boy who laid behind me.

"I will get security if you don't leave" i said calmly.
The guy realized i was serious.
"Fine" he hissed. He backed to the door and left.

I let out the air i was holding.
I didn't even realize i was holding my breath.
"Angel" i looked back at the boy. He mutter it again.
I walked closer to him.
"What are you saying" i murmer.
He didn't say anything else.
"Ugh this is so frustrating you say something then you go all zombie on me!" I said angrily.

"Alexis where are you?" Mrs. Anderson called.
I walked out the door and ran in to her.
"Oh i'm glad your here i have something to ask." She said.
"Yes what is it" i ask putting a smile on my face.
"Have you seen a guy he's middle aged long black hair?" She asked.
"Yea i seen him he followed me" i answer.
"That's what i'm worried about he seems awfully interested in that poor boy" she said.
I nod.
"Can you do me a favor?" She asked.
"Sure" i answer quickly.
"Keep watch of him for awhile the boy okay" she asked.
I nodded.

Mrs. Anderson walked away and i walked back to the boy's room.
I sat down in a chair staring at him.
"Okay you can talk now" i mutter.
He remained silent.
I felt my anger flare up.
" you are so confusing! One minute you talk or even touch me then the next you remain silent" i mutter.

I started to drum my fingers on my legs.
I hated being bored.
It was like boredom capital in here.
I stared at the blank tint of blue walls.
I counted ceiling tiles.
Heck i even counted how many times the heart rate moniter went up and down.
Yea that was how bored i was.

I finally stared at the boy.
His hands looked soft but callouses on them.
Or had been i'm pretty sure he's been in the hospital for a long time now.
I looked at his black hair that fell over his eyes.
I wanted him to open his eyes just so i could see his gorgous brown eyes.

He looked so serious but peaceful.
"Your name's asher right?" I ask. I saw him flinch.
I leaned closer.
"That name causes you lots of pain doesn't it. I have a name that causes me pain. She went by many maria, friend, co worker, wife, and  mom. She's not here any more she got in a car accident she passed away" i don't know why i talked to him i felt like he was listening.
It also felt calming.

"I was in the car accident too i just didn't go away. I wish i did though.  I wish she had taken my place instead of me. My father won't even look at me without sobbing. My baby sister lost a mom. I guess i'm more of a parent figure for her then a sister. My brother wasn't affected by her death. They always fought. I get accused of her death every time my dad talks to me he will say ' why couldn't you die instead no one needs you. Maria. we needed her but she died you should join her' i always regretted calling her to come pick me up from school." I said with tears in my eyes.

"My family is messed up. Do you have family? I bet they miss you." I murmer.
I wiped the tears from my eyes as i heard the door open.
"Great talk" i mutter as i walk away.
Away from the boy who listened.
