"Cody, I'm serious! What should I wear?" I yelled into my phone while I searched through my closet.

"Just wear some jeans and a t-shirt. He's not gonna care what you wear, Mikey."

"But I care."

"Just wear what you usually would. He likes you, wearing a certain pair of jeans isn't going to change that," Cody sighed into the phone.

"But-"

"Shut up! You're cute, okay? Just put on those jeans that have that weird patch thing on the leg and a band shirt."

"I'm not cute; I'm punk rock," I protested.

"Mikey, we could argue about this all day, but I have things to do and places to be. So, just wear what I told you to and have fun. Don't stress too much."

"Okay, okay. I should get changed and leave soon anyways. Don't get your hand stuck in the toilet again; I won't be there to help get it out this time," I smiled into the phone.

"I hate you."

"Awe, I love you, too. And tell Alia I miss her!"

"Yeah, yeah," Cody hung up.

"Bitch," I said as I looked down to my phone to see that he did indeed hang up on me.

I shrugged and tossed my phone onto my bed, where it bounced around for a few seconds before it finally fell off the bed and face down on the floor.

I pulled out the outfit that Cody had suggested and tried it on, looking at myself in the mirror, twisting and turning, for a few minutes. I sighed, "Well, I guess this is as good as it's gonna get."

I looked at my clock and saw that I only had ten minutes before I was supposed to meet Calum at the park. It was about a five minute walk, so I used the remaining minutes I had to run my fingers through my hair and to brush my teeth.

I also popped a mint into my mouth as I walked out the door, honestly hoping for the best possible scenario to happen at the park.

I walked with my hands in my pockets humming Backseat Serenade, which had been stuck in my head all day.

Once I arrived at the park, it wasn't hard to find Calum. I just had to look for the medium sized crowd of teenage girls.

"Micheal! Hey!" I heard Calum shout from somewhere inside the throng. "Sorry, girls, but I have to go."

The crowd let out a collective groan and a few of the girls sent a nasty glare my way, which I met with a wave and a cheeky smile.

Calum came up to me and waved to the fans himself. This seemed to get the point across to them that they should actually leave, which they gradually began to do.

"So, um, hi," I said to Calum. "You didn't need to send them away like that. I mean, I would've waited while you talked with them."

He smiled at me, "Don't tell them this, but I would much rather hang out with you then talk to fans right now."

I let out a dramatic gasp, "As a major fan myself, I am deeply offended."

He shrugged, "The truth had to come out sometime."

I pushed his shoulder, "Dick."

"You are what you eat."

I let out an embarrassingly loud laugh at that, "I never thought that I would live to see the day that I would hear Calum Hood make a sexuality joke."

"Well, now you can check that off of your bucket list."

"Eh, it wasn't very high on the list. So, what made you change your mind so suddenly?"

"About?" We began to walk down a path.

"Hanging out with me."

"Oh," Calum let out a breath. "My management weren't exactly thrilled that I came out. They are homophobic or anything, but I guess they would've liked to have me do it in an interview or something. A bit more official, you know? So, they kinda told me to like lay low or whatever, while they landed us a small interview where I can confirm it." He glanced at me before continuing, "And they kinda told me to, I don't know, stay away from you? I mean, they told me to do that awhile ago, when we began tweeting each other more often. I ignored them of course, but this time it was more real. Like, people actually knew about my sexuality and I was kind of afraid of how the fans were gonna take it. I didn't want to drag you into this mess, either. But that group seemed to have taken the news pretty well."

I let my eyes travel from the path to his face and down to his arm, where his hand was swinging loosely down by his side. I took what little courage I had in me and grasped his hand in my own and gave it a squeeze, "I don't care what mess you drag me into, as long as I'm with you."

Calum slowed to a stop, causing me to worry that I had over stepped my boundaries in some way.

He turned to me and grabbed my other hand. Looking into my eyes, he said, "You are something special, Micheal Clifford." And before I could even comprehend what was happening, his lips were on mine.

Warmth spread from my lips down to my feet. The way his lips covered mine made me feel as if I was floating high above the ground; the park surrounding us faded away, leaving only Calum and I. Hesitantly, I moved my lips against his, slowly gaining more and more courage as the seconds dragged by. I let go of his hands and wrapped my arms around his neck. He used this opportunity to rest his hands on my cheeks, slowly rubbing his thumb back and forth. We pulled away slowly, breathing heavily. My eyes remained shut for the few moments just after the kiss, and when I finally opened them, the first thing I saw was Calum staring at me, his hands still holding my face. My gaze flickered between his eyes, trying to figure out if he had felt the same way I had.

"That was okay, right?" he asked, sounding unsure.

I connected our lips again shortly instead of giving him an immediate answer, "Yeah, it was okay. A little bit more than that actually."

"Good. Yeah, that's good; really good."
