Mikey's POV

My leg bounced nervously as I waited for the car that was to pick me up from the airport.
As soon as I left the hospital, I booked the next flight to Barcelona, where Calum was performing next.
I had the driver take me straight to the arena once he arrived at the airport.
Calum had texted me his schedule, as he always does, so I would be able to get ahold of him if I wanted or needed to. I knew he would be in soundcheck right now if they were on track with everything, so I planned to wait in his dressing room and surprise him once he was done.
Once I arrived at the arena I used the special pass Cal made for me to get backstage and into his dressing room without being harassed by security or anybody else.
I set down my luggage and sat on a couch to wait for Calum, watching the soundcheck on the small tv that shows the stage. Calum wasn't performing as enthusiastically as I remembered him doing, but I told myself that it was just because it was soundcheck and not the actual show.
I zoned out enough to where I was shocked as I heard the door knob twist. It stopped as I heard what sounded like Luke yelling and Calum speaking a reply. That brisk conversation gave me enough time to get myself completely situated on the couch and slightly prepared for what was to come.
Would he be happy?
Mad?
I hoped it would be the first one.
I held my breath as the door was pushed open and Calum took his first step through the doorway.
He didn't notice me at first, too busy looking at his phone.
The second he looked up was the second my phone went off, directing his attention to my smiling face on the couch.
"Mikey?" He asked in disbelief.
"Hi, baby," I smiled.
He ran the short distance and threw his arms around me as I stood up, the force almost knocking the both of us over.
"Oh my fucking god. I can't believe it.  Why are you here? How long are you staying? Are you gonna see the show? I love you. Fuck," all rushed out of his mouth at the same time.
I pulled back slightly from the hug to press a kiss to his mouth that was still ajar from both his rant and his shock.
"Baby, I'm here because my mom slapped some sense into me. I'm staying for the whole tour, if you'll still have me. Of fucking course I'm gonna see the show. I gotta see my baby in action, don't I? And I love you too, so much," I answered all of his questions and pecked him again, "God, I missed doing that."
"If I'll have you, babe I never stopped wanting you to come with me. Ask the boys, I've been a sad mess since we left home. Wait, your mom? She woke up? That's great Mike! I'm so happy!" Calum looked adorable with a wide smile on his face.
"Yeah she did," I smiled back softly. "And she told me to come to you, so here I am."
"I love that woman. One she gave birth to the best person in the entire universe so I could call him mine and fall in love with him and two she sent you back to me. As soon as the tour is over or we get a long enough break I want to fly back home and meet her. Also I want to pay all of the hospital bills."
"No, Calum. I can't let you do that," I stepped out of our embrace. "I'm perfectly capable of taking care of my own mother."
"I know you are, Mikey. I'm not saying you aren't. I'm just saying that I want to help you. I know you're paying off college and you don't have a steady job, so this won't be easy. Hospital bills are expensive. You're my boyfriend, I have the money, let me use it to help you and your family," he practically begged.
I let out a sigh as I realized that everything he said was the truth, "Fine, Cally, you win. You can help me pay for the bills. But you know I'm not with you for the money, right? Cuz if I was I'd be going for Zayn; Parallel makes the big bucks."
"Don't even joke about that; I don't want to even imagine you with anyone but me."
I pulled him into a deep kiss, "There won't be anyone but you, 'Kay?"
Dazed, he nodded, "Okay."
I kissed him again, "I love you, Calum."
"I love you too, Michael."
