Voltron woke up with the absence of the blue paladin. None of them have said anything since Lance was recaptured and forced to the torture rooms. They all heard his screams, about anger, sadness, depression. And once again, he started to beg for Haggar to stop. Pidge managed to unscrew a screw connecting her bed and the legs of the bed. She was about to pick the lock when Shiro put his hand on her shoulder, "Katie, stop." Pidge continued to try and break the door down, she punched it, kicked it. She even yelled at the door but it still wouldn't open, "Katie! You're hurting yourself!" She fell limp into the black paladin's arms crying for Lance's safety. Keith made his way across the room and sat down next to Hunk, who when Lance was taken, took to sitting facing the furthest corner of the room.

"Hey buddy," Keith said sitting next to Hunk, "it's gonna be okay." Keith rubbed circles with his index finger around Hunk's back. Hunk sniffled and shook his head,

"no. It's not Keith. You don't know Lance like I do," Keith chuckled to himself and said,

"what? The ladies-man-jester we know and love isn't the real Lance you know?" Hunk nodded sadly,

"Keith, he talks about his family all the time," Keith looked at the same spot on the wall Hunk was,

"I know man, sometimes I wish I had a family like Lance's. The way he talks about them is like they're inseparable." Hunk softly whispered,

"they were inseparable." Unfortunately, Keith heard him.

"Hunk, what do you mean were?" Hunk shook his head,

"It's for Lance to tell you. All I can say, is the memories are really the only thing he has left."

Meanwhile...

Zarkon shook Lance's hand and said, "guards. Take project HYBRID back to his cell. And let Voltron go. They don't pose as a threat, without the blue paladin, they can't actually form Voltron itself." The guards nodded and Lance was dragged back to his personal ten by ten cell. He sat in the middle of the floor knowing something Zarkon didn't. Even though his connection to blue is broken. Even though Voltron will be millions of light years away from him, they will find him again. They have to.

Voltron...

Shiro stood up protectively standing over Hunk and Keith. Pidge got ready in a fighting position. The guard looked at the sighed before him and said, "Voltron. You are granted freedom by Zarkon. The blue paladin has agreed to work for us and with us to become someone else. Something else." Shiro growled then said,

"Lance is NOT a traitor!" Zarkon's laugh echoed throughout the command ship.

"Really Champion? What does this tell you?" He held up a small tablet like thing that showed a video. Security feed from when Lance shook hands with Zarkon. "That's-you faked it!" He yelled at Zarkon, Pidge took the screen and stared at the video, trying to find proof it was faked. Keith and Hunk also looked over his shoulder, wondering what they were looking at. Pidge looked at his team and shook his head,

"it's not faked. Lance-he betrayed us." Zarkon smiled then shocked Voltron until they passed out. He turned to his followers then said,

"take Voltron to one of the escape pods and set coordinates for where the black lion is located." His guards nodded and dragged Voltron to an escape pod. He smiled to himself and said, "It's time for project HYBRID to begin!!"

One year later...

It was a silent night throughout the castle. No one was awake, that is, except for the Red Paladin. It's been a year since Lance betrayed Voltron. Over the year Lance was missing they managed to find a replacement for him. The new blue paladin was named Jason. Keith personally would rather have Lance over Jason, but they didn't have any other choice than to find a new blue paladin. Without blue in commission they would be able to form Voltron. Keith walked into the training room then said,
