(Valkyrie Cain and Dexter Vex love story)The Descendants

Day 5; 11:30 A.M

Saracen was walking past Valkyrie's office on his way to see Skulduggery when he heard her phone ringing. She must have forgotten it. He went into her room and there it was on the desk beside an invitation from Fletcher to a grand ball. He checked the screen to see Dexter's name pop up with the muscle emoji with three missed calls from him and he snorted before answering.

"Look, Val, I know you might be mad at me for leaving again but I'm coming back tomorrow. I really had to leave, but I found out some stuff that's really important." Dexter said, thinking Saracen was Valkyrie.

"Oh Dexter, I love your muscles so how could I not forgive you" Saracen imitated a high-pitched girly giggle and Dexter Vex cursed at him from the other end of the phone.

"SARACEN! What are you doing on Valkyrie's phone?" he asked, suspicious.

"Calm down, cowboy. I was just walking past her office and heard it wringing. Thought it might be someone important. I was wrong."

"It doesn't seem like Val to forget her phone." Said Dexter and Saracen held back a laugh.

"That's because she probably left it behind on purpose so she could have an uninterrupted date with Fletcher." Saracen enjoyed making Dexter jealous. Maybe Vex would realize how much he cared about her and tell her before it was too late. There was silence on the other end.

"I have to go. I need to pack some stuff." Dexter said briskly and hung up. Saracen took a moment to imagine the surprise on Valkyrie's face if she saw Dexter again without knowing he was coming previously. So, he deleted the notifications of the missed calls and left the phone where it was without telling anyone.
