Alice could tell Ellion was in a hurry today. He was always on time but today he was half an hour early.

"What's wrong? What is it?" she frantically asked as he fumbled in his hurry to open the cell.

"You have to hurry up and get ready. Dress nice. Reserved. The elders are back, and today you're going to meet them. I've heard they're...deranged. So watch your tongues." He replied.

"The what? Oh, you mean the other two mages who make up the rest of China's trio of excellencies." Alice realized this was a big deal and hurried. "Vivi, wake up. Let's go get dressed. Today we're going to meet the princesses that help Queen China." She dumbed it down to a level Vivi would understand.

"The princesses! I'm a princess. At least that's what Mummy told me I was. I want to be a princess too, Alice!" Vivi woke with a start and got up.

"Sure, whatever you want. Just do it quickly." Alice said and turned to Ellion. "Is this your first time meeting them too?"

"Is it that obvious? What am I talking about? I'm freaking out. If they don't like me they can fire me and send me back to London. I really don't was to lose my job. I love it." Ellion sighed.

"Hey, you'll be fine. They're gonna love you." Alice reassured him.

"How can you be sure?" he looked as if he might throw up.

"It's impossible not to." She smiled and hugged him. She felt him freeze under her arms and second-guessed her decision. Had she overstepped her boundaries? But when he squeezed her back and his strong arms wrapped around her waist she pushed all doubts away, feeling his warmth spread to her heart. She rubbed the back of his neck to calm him down and felt his tense muscles loosed beneath his shirt. Alice reluctantly pulled away, already missing him.

"We have to get ready, remember?" she grinned and he blushed. She was pretty sure her face was red too.

"Yeah. Hurry and meet me in the throne room. It's the big hall of mirrors. Do you think you can get there?" he asked and she nodded. "Okay, let's get this over with.
