Chapter 7: Argument Forsaken
(NOTE: Akise (The guy who said he's a Slayer-Assassin, Rin doesn't know his name yet.) Doesn't know about Akira, The Legend Berserk. She became The Legend Berserk shortly after he escaped, keep on reading.)
PREVIOUSLY:
"Rin Yukino, there's another Slayer-Assassin you don't know of."
"No, i'm the one and only." she put a confused look on her face.
"That's what you think."
"Who's the other?" Akira asked.
He looked at both of us, "Me."
-
Rin's P.O.V
"You're lying. There's no other Slayer-Assassin, if there was, I would've heard about it! Therefore, you are wrong." I asserted.
He sighed. "Don't make this hard for me. You don't even know me."
I got closer to his face and looked him straight in the eye. "I don't even have to know about you, to know you're lying, you can't be a Slayer-Assassin, you just can't!"
He glared at me and backed away.
"You don't have to believe me..."
"I know, because I dont believe people who lie."
"You can't even accept the truth."
I looked down. "The truth?"
"I've accepted "The truth" 2 years ago. And, i'll have you know that it felt good."
"Whatever..get out of my house."
"You're so unpleasant!" I spat.
"Rin, we should go..." Akira elbowed my shoulder.
"We shouldn't go! He should go! This isn't his house, that's what I know for sure."
"Of course it isn't, I got the same idea you got. To come here. I've been here for way longer than you have Rin, you've only been here for ... I don't know? 15 minutes?"
"I-I would've came sooner, I just didn't like this weird place." I admitted.
"Chicken." he rolled his eyes.
"Dipstick."
"Nob-head."
"Puddle of homeless man's urine!"
"You're disgusting..."
"Shut up," I crossed my arms.
"Rin, I'll just be waiting for you outside." Akira said.
I don't like it when people argue, sorry," She opened the back-door and left.
"You know what--I'll just tell you."
"Tell me what?"
"I was a slave," he conceded.
"A Slave?...Of which Kingdom?"
"Azeroth, of course."
My eyes widened. "A-Azeroth?"
"Yeah. You might be thinking i'm lying, but that's a part of why I became a Slayer-Assassin" He said seriously.
"All slaves die after they aren't needed, and it's completely Impossible for them to escape... How did you escape?" I asked.
"I guess I have my ways, no one even knows me anymore... "
"I was a slave, but, I escaped, the guards looked for me but never found me. Not even once. I moved from place to place until I thought they finally gave up. No one would waste their time looking for a slave for that long." He continued.
I can't help but believe him now..I feel pathetic.
I looked down. "But they would waste their time looking for a Noble. A Noble who betrayed the Kingdom..."
"You were a Noble?"
"I was. Never will be again,"
"Is it because you betrayed the Kingdom?"
"It's way more than just betraying..." I said.
He had a questioning look on his face.
"I killed the old King." I looked down to not see his reaction.
"Aji?" He asked, surprised.
I looked up and he looked really surprised.
"W-Well yes... Aji..."
"A-Aji killed my parents..." he murmured.
"Oh.."
I couldn't help but remember my mother...Aria. She..gave me up.
"You actually killed Aji?" he asked, trying to change the subject.
"I did, he was about to kill a slave, I think his name was Akise. I dont remember. Though, I was forced to kill him anyway."
His eyes widened.
"Akise...?"
"You know him? I think he's alive still, I actually haven't seen him since now that I think about it..."
He was silent for a while, but finally spoke, "He's fine now.."
"So you do know him? Where is he?" I asked.
He got silent again, "What's wrong?"
"Oh..It's nothing," he slightly smiled.
"So, what's your name?" I changed the subject. He doesn't like talking about this subject. I don't know what he's hiding but whatever.
He rolled his eyes, "You ask now?"
"Why not? There's nothing to hide anyway,"
He looked down.
Awkward silence.
"It's.."
"Why are you having so much trouble saying just your name?!" I was frustrated now. He got all quiet when I spoke of Akise so i'm regretting even mentioning him.
"It's...Akise." he mumbled.
"Wh-What? You're Akise?!"
"Ye-yeah,"
"Why were you hiding it?"
"I don't know?"
"Nice answer,"
He sighed and smiled, "Thanks for saving me, Rin."
"I-It was nothing,"
"Rin! You coming?" Akira called out to me.
"U-Um! I'll be there in a sec!"
"Rin, you want to stay here?"
My eyes widened, "No,I mean, if you don't mind.."
With your friend?" He added.
"Umm... I'd like to.. Only if you let us, though!" I looked down.
"You could stay"
"You don't have to."
"I need to, you saved me."
"Well, thanks, Akise." I smiled
"No prob' Don't worry, It's fine."
Akira entered the house, "What's taking you so long?"
