Chapter 8: No Regrets
Rin's P.O.V
How do I explain this to... Akira?
"Um, Akise is letting us stay here," I mumbled hesitantly.
"Uh... Why are you listening to a stranger?" she looked at him skeptically.
"Just trust me on this, please?" I fiddled with my fingers.
She sighed, "Okay, thanks stranger."
"No problem, stranger." he smiled.
"He has to do it anyway." I looked down.
"He has to pay me back," I said arrogantly.
He smiled and rolled his eyes. There was something about him though, something suspicious. But I couldn't put my finger on it.
Akira raised a brow.
"Long story."
She nodded.
"Well, I'm beat!" I said and jumped on the couch.
Akira smiled and sat down with me.
"So, Akira."
"Do you have any friends in Azeroth?" I asked, changing the subject.
"Um... Maybe a couple? I don't know. They probably aren't real friends... I get used a lot because of fame and popularity."
"Oh, I see."
"What about you, Rin? Did you have any?"
"I used to, I had two close friends, Riven and Aisaka."
"Oh, what happened?"
"I..."
I looked down and gulped.
"I killed Aji and escaped. I was thinking about them when I escaped, it hurt to leave, and I felt guilty for nothing telling them, too."
"A-Aji? The old King? I heard he died but..no one told me how. I didn't know you killed him..."
"Yeah..." I sighed remembering the memory.
She raised a brow, "Have you heard from your friends?" She asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence.
I shaked my head.
Akira smirked. "Well what would you do if you saw her again?"
"I don't know."
She laughed, "I've never had true friends."
"Well now you do," I stated confidently.
Akise was sitting on the couch listening to our conversation, i think? He had headphones in and his eyes were closed. Probably listening to music.
"You guys want to go to those Ice-cream places? I heard ice cream is good." I asked.
Akise grinned. "Sure, why not?"
"I'm up for it!" Akira said excitedly.
The front door slammed shut quicker than a second.
