Their eyes widen for a slight second before smirking "Did you change your mind?"

"Um, Jake?" I say shocked, looking up to meet his green eyes.

"Why are you shocked to see me?" he said then looks down at my hands, "Why do you have a cake?" he looked back at me to meet my eyes and raises an eyebrow in amusement.

I feel the blush raise to my cheeks and for a second I stopped to process this...why would he be there. I mean I know the logical reason would be that he's my neighbor. But that's impossible right? I mean he can't live next door to me, he just can't.

I heard him clear his throat. I quickly snap out of my thoughts and meet his eyes trying to tame the blush on my cheeks.

"Yeah?"

"Why are you standing outside my house with a cake?" he said suddenly looking very awkward, "When I offered for you to come by you didn't need to bring a cake. We were just going to have sex, not dinner", he said looking awkward and slightly uncomfortable.

"No! No." I quickly put in clearing my throat, "I um, I live in the house next door" I say rubbing my hand against my neck feeling the awkward atmosphere thickening around us.

His eyebrow shoots up in confusion and he leans his head out  of the door frame and peers to his left and sees my house, "Seriously?" he asks

"No, I'm lying, I just needed a reason to bring you a cake my mother baked", I say getting frustrated. Can't he just take the cake so I can leave?

He smirked looking down at me, "Don't get all feisty"

"Can you please just take the cake, I'm cold and I want to go back inside" I say as I rub my shoulders. I thought I was going to be here for like two minutes so I didn't bother putting on a jacket, or a sweater. I was still wearing just my denim button up.

"Okay" he said as he took the cake from my hands, "Thanks. It was Chelsea, right?" he said trying to match a name to a face.

Okay, I know it was only his first day knowing me, but after what Kimmy said about the thing with him and names, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Of course he couldn't remember my name.

"Yes, goodbye" I say turning and walking away. I feel his eyes burning into me and I try to not trip over my own two feet.

I walk into my house and up to my room.

I flop on my bed and decide to FaceTime Kimmy.

Her face appears on my screen and she smiles, "Hey girl whats up?"

I sigh, "You won't believe what just happened"

"What's wrong"

"My mom asked me to stop by the neighbors and when I knocked on the door, Jake answered"

"What?!" she said and the screen went black for a second. I hear shuffling and suddenly her face reappears, "Sorry I dropped my phone, but are you for real?"

"Sadly" I say rolling my eyes.

"So Jake Winters is your next door neighbor" she asks trying to contain the smile on her face.

"Yeah" I look up and frown, "And unless his parents have a poster of a half naked girl on their wall, I think Jake's room is across from mine" I say a slight whine in my voice. How could I not have noticed he was the occupant of the room across from me over this past week?

I hear Kimmy giggle and I glare at her through the camera, "This isn't funny"

She rolls her eyes playfully, "Oh relax, you know how many girls would kill to be in your position?"

I smirk, "Are you one of them Kimberly?"

She snorts and I can't help but laugh at the sound, "He wishes" she says winking, "but hey at least you have a nice view" we both laugh at that and talk for a while before hanging up.

I go to my walk in closet, which by far has to be my favorite part of my new room. I change into a pair of shorts and a baggy t-shirt. I slip off my bra and sigh contently at the feeling of being without the cage that imprisons my boobs for most of the day.

I walk back into my room and slip on a hoodie. Grabbing a book off my shelf, I turn off my light and flick the switch of my lamp as I fall onto my bed.

Okay, I lied, my bed might be my favorite part about this room.

I open the book to where I left off and engross myself into the book.

I blush as the male character begins to whisper seductive things in the girls ear.

I love reading romance books such as these, but I can't help but blush at the parts like this. I've never experienced anything as passionate as the characters in these stories.

From when I was little it's always been me and Chad and I've never felt the desire to do these things with him.

I blushed a darker shade of red as the book got more descriptive using words to describe things I never knew you could describe in such a way.

"What's got you blushing like a beet?" I hear a husky voice call out.

I turn my head and see Jake standing by his window, an eyebrow raised in amusement.

"You always have an eyebrow raised, they're going to get stuck like that" I warn standing up and putting the book on my desk.

He chuckled, "Well I would just love to know what you're reading Princess"

I look down when he calls me that, "Why do you call me that?"

"What?" he said his eyebrows furrowing creating a crease in his forehead.

"Princess" I say looking down.

He rubs his chin with his hand, "I don't know I guess I thought of it when you acted like a brat in class" he said completely monotone.

My mouth agape, I just stare at him waiting for him to laugh or smile or something to show he was joking, but it never came, "Are you being serious right now?"

He looked at me and nodded, "I thought that was clear, well now I see you're also clueless like one too"

What is his problem?

I just stared at him. Is this because I rejected his offer to sleep with him? Is this his way of making himself feel better?

I just scoffed and shut my window not wanting to speak to him anymore.

What an A class jerk.

A/N:

Ta-da! As you can see if you were an old reader, all the chapters have mostly been rewritten. I hope you're enjoying this new storyline of how Jake and Chelsea met because I know I like it a whole lot more!

I know this is a shorter chapter and if you're wondering they won't all be this short. I personally like longer chapters so I try to write long ones in my story as well.

Please let me know what you think of the story so far!

Much love,

-Gabbi
