I walked straight into the building ignoring everyone and everything. My eyes staring at each person accessing them wondering if they would attack or carry on. I continued to walk but stopped when I saw a tall man with dark hair. When we met eyes I found myself smiling. He had been the one to take care of me and tried his best to keep me safe. I couldn't help but feel relieved that at least someone was still on my side even in this bad place.

Someone who knew I was doing bad and still accepted me. Someone who was able to trust me with their life. Liam smiled at me also and for once I wasn't looking over my shoulder or at the people around me because I knew he had my back. I walked faster toward him and when I was finally standing in front of him my arms wrapped around his neck as I hugged him.

"Not that I'm complaining, but what's up?" He asks hugging me back

"Thank you" I say pulling away and looking at him "thank you for everything you've done for me"

He smiles and shrugs. "Anyone would have done it" he smiled

"No one would have taken the trouble to do what you're doing for me right now. No one would take the time to help me get back on my feet" I tell him

"Well we take care of our own" he says "you ready to train?" He asks

"I'm ready to get back on my feet" I say feeling just a little more confident

Once I was dressed I walked back into the training room seeing people already standing around.

"Alright killer let's do this" Liam says leaning against the wall "these are some of our best"

I stood in the center of the mat and waited for one of them to make the first move. As always I had to make out what their move was first before I made my own. When one did he ran toward me and jumped up and kicked his leg out directed at me. I grabbed his leg and flipped him over easily.

I quickly fell to the ground feeling someone hit the back of my knee forcing me to fall. I turned and moved my leg around making that same person fall straight onto their backs on the ground. Once he was on the ground he lifted his foot and kicked me on my stomach pushing me back. My breath was kicked out of me and I fell to the ground trying to breathe in. I could feel how hard it was and I was momentarily weakened allowing someone else to stand right behind me and wrap their arms around my neck.

The only way we ever trained was by giving it our all. And I knew that the way to get back on my feet was training the way it would happen in the real world. They wanted to make sure that if we survived here then we could survive out there.

Slowly they began to squeeze and right when I began to feel lightheaded I lifted my arm and elbowed them on their side. It had forced them to let go just enough for me to reach over and flip them over.
