Chapter 24

Lana

It was morning already and I was up bright and early. Just like usual I walked out of my room and went straight into the training room. And just like usual Liam was already there. I watched as he walked around me then felt as he stood behind me.

"It's important to keep up appearances" he says against my ear

"Well then are you ready to get your ass beat?" I smirk

He takes a step back and smirks back. "Lets see about that" he says

I also take a step back and watch his stance. He begins to take a step forward after another. I watch his feet and his hands as I see him finally run to punch me.

I lifted my arm blocking his punch and I moved my other hand and quickly punched his side. He then moves back sharply, taking a breath. He then ran to me again punching but I blocked it again and as I was going to punch him again he moved his leg kicking me back. I lost my footing and quickly fell back harshly landing on my back. I opened my eyes looking at Liam as he stood above me.

He offered his hand for me to take but I chuckled and twirled my legs so I could be standing. When I did stand I quickly moved my hands punching side side and head and I bent down and moved my leg causing him to lose his balance. Once he did I grabbed his hand and flipped him into the ground. Now I stood above him as he was on the ground.

I was about to offer my hand for him to take when the training room doors opened and someone walked in.

"Rick would like to see you in the debriefing room" he says then leaves

I looked at Liam who was now sitting on the ground and saw he had a questioning look.

"The king has summoned us" I say sarcastically

After I was showered and dressed I walked to the debriefing room seeing Liam was already there. I took my seat across from Liam as we waited for Rick to show his face. When he did he walked in the room dropping a folder on the desk. I grabbed it and looked through the pictures realizing it was the team he had sent out to kill Carl and Damon.

"Looks like I sent the wrong team to finish this job" he says "I should have sent you instead then this would have been done with"

"What job is this?" I ask pretending I didn't know what he was talking about

"I know you'll be against it at first but might I remind you, you work for me not him" he says dropping another folder "I want them dead the both of them father and son"

I look up from Carl's profile and look at Rick in disbelief.

"Why would you want to kill Carl? Doesn't he work for you?" I ask pretending I didn't know Carl was dead

"He let his family get in the way of doing his job. I don't want people who have ties to a human life. If you ask me he should have left that boy in the orphanage where his birth mother left him" he says
