Chapter 35

What an boring end to this war. We wiped them all out soon after Beowulf was dispatched. There were some clans that committed mass suicide. The bodies of the men, women, and children were scattered in their churches. I just had the towns burned. The ones that still wanted to fight were not much of a threat. They only had the advantage of the land. It only cost me a few dozen soldiers. In the last town the King and the Emperor came to toast victory. I stood next to my king as they cheered and boasted the triumph that I brought them. Ammie was there as well. She as always looked very engaged at my victory. Although it was very clear to me at least who was the only person worthy of crown Edmund said nothing. He only said that there would be much more celebration when we returned to England. More balls and fancy parties. I am still a juvenile in this society, so it is all foreign to me. Perhaps then he will name me his successor. Then again it is not up to him.

King Edmund and The Elders may all nominate the same person for the crown, but it is The Grand Elders that have to approve overall. Those old rotting meat sacks have too much of a say in our society. And Edmund is afraid of them. Together they could kill him, they could kill Ammie if they wanted. Out of the royal family there are two they can not kill. Those being Jamie and I of course. We are the strongest vampires since The Grand Elders, and they have been walking this Earth since humans appeared. I have not seen them since I left for the final campaign, but I can just feel how enthused they will be to see me. I was on their list, and they wanted to kill me that day. I know they did, but if it was not for me committing treason we would still be afraid of some insignificant humans. I do expect them to kiss my ass when I return. As for a personal celebration Jade said she has something planned for Jamie and I. The only personal celebration I need from Jade is the two of us on her bed with her head between my legs. Knowing Jade that is probably what will happen.

Jamie has brought some hunters with us. She intends to use them for her research, and so will I. I just end the strain of genetic code for the future. If hunters come out again I will need to compare the different codes. As for Emperor Hector I will need to do further studies on his blood, and when he has grandchildren I will have to look at their genetic codes. It is important to my research on his family. I am the guardian of this family after all. There is so much I have to do with my research. This war has put me many years behind in my research. I can see that the soon to be political life that I will be thrown into will push me back as well. Living in the castle will push me back as well. That is why I have bought a mansion in the countryside. Since the farmers are moving into London their land is cheap to buy. Over the past few years I have had a house ready. I used the money that Elaine gave me to pay for it. Over those years of service I have made almost 10 million pounds. It was more than enough to make the house and have our research labs built under it. Besides this house I am preparing to make another in the Americas. It will not be for some time, but what is left over will be put to that and my research.

I have found the immortality gene in Killian's blood, and it is inactive. I am not sure how I am to active with yet, so I will need a few things. I need his seed and a seed from myself. After that I need a host to carry the child. My future offspring must be something of this sort, but the seed might be from Haty. There are not any females in Killian's immediate family to experiment from, so I will have to use him. He is a very dear and old friend, but to ask him to do this for me is odd in itself. As for the seed from myself I will need Jamie to hasten her research on the vampire body. She has found where the process of babies is within the woman body, but she has still not found what makes the baby. I theorize that the immortality gene in me is strong than that in Haty's line so it will overpower hers, and that is how our offspring will become immortal. It is still only a theory, but in the mean time I will focus on activating Killian's immortal gene. There has to be something missing or something I am not seeing yet.
