BLUE / EPILOGUE

THREE MONTHS LATER
taehyung focus
taehyung stands by the edge of grey ocean, the cold saltwater lapping at the tips of his sneakers and dampening them.
he looks out at the distance, the endless ocean spreading out far and wide without a boat or swimmer disrupting it's tranquil waves at this specific time.
wow, taehyung thinks.

he sighs softly and the corners of his lips tug into a smile when he hears someone curse loudly behind him. he looks over his shoulder just in time to see jungkook slip on the wet pebbles. a bag of snacks falling down along with him, the contents scattering out of the clear plastic.

taehyung turns around, laughing and goes to help the boy back up.
jungkook gets to his feet hurriedly, embarrassed and annoyed.

"taehyung, what are we doing here exactly? beaches are for the summer. yes, i get that it's nearly spring but spring is still fucking cold." jungkook grunts, picking up the snacks and putting them back in his plastic bag. "i got you some snacks though 'cause im a good boyfriend." he mutters, his irritation dissipating already.

"thanks." taehyung smiles, kneeling down on the rocky beach ground and wincing at the feeling of pebbles and stones pressing through his jeans and against his butt.
he pulls his backpack off his shoulder and arranges it in front of him, rifling through the messy contents with a frown.

"i was hoping that today would be a little sunnier." taehyung sighs, digging out a camera and looking up at the grey skies with his nose scrunched up.

"can we just go already? this isn't even a freaking beach. it's just stones." jungkook complains, tugging at his coat and juggling with the plastic bag overflowing with different flavoured chips and cans of cola.

"not until sunset - i need to take a photo of the sunset for my art project." taehyung hums, closing his backpack and hoisting it back on to his shoulders.

"tae, you could've taken a photo from our dorm window."

"it's nicer out here though." taehyung whines, standing up and brushing off any dirt from his jeans.
"just wait only fifteen minutes more, then sun'll be setting soon." taehyung instructs, studying his watch.

"the things i do for you." jungkook shakes his head, handing the plastic bag of snacks to taehyung before wandering down the beach to a small patch of sand.

taehyung stays where he is, fiddling with his camera and looking up every second to see if the sun had set even though he knew it hadn't.

the wind tousles his hair, blowing his fringe into his eyes and tickling his eyelids. he pushes his fringe away and with another glance at his watch, looks over at jungkook who prods at something on the sand with a long stick. he walks over with his camera in hand and smiles upon seeing what the younger was doing.

carved into the wet patch of sand, was his and jungkook's name inside a wobbly looking heart.

bringing his camera up to his face, taehyung snaps a quick shot of jungkook and the writing on the sand. the latter looks up at the sound of the camera whirring, smiling lazily at taehyung.

"pose for the camera!" taehyung grins, adjusting the camera.

"what pose do you want me to do?" jungkook laughs.

"do a cute pose!" taehyung calls at once, laughing.

"no way."

"c'mon! for me only?" taehyung asks pleadingly, fluttering his lashes to charm the younger. jungkook rolls his eyes.

"fine but for your eyes only - don't you dare take a picture." jungkook warns. taehyung nods, pursing his lips to stop himself from smiling.

jungkook warily lifts his hands to his face and sighs before forcing a smile and murmuring a quick but bright toned 'shy shy shy!'
he quickly moves his hands away, cringing but he doesn't do it quick enough.

snap!

". . ."

"taehyung."

taehyung looks up from the camera screen, stifling a laugh.
"hm?"

"didn't i say that it was for your eyes only?"

"it will be! i promise not to show it to anyone -- aw, jungkook, you look adorable!" taehyung coos, spluttering with laughter when he checks the camera to see if the photo had come out right.

"taehyung."

"hm?"

"ill give you a ten seconds head start."

"huh?" taehyung looks up to see the glare on jungkook's face and clutches his camera to his chest protectively.

"run." the younger says darkly.

"shiT." taehyung curses under his breath before starting up a sprint, running across the pebbles and away from jungkook.

not even waiting after ten seconds, a grinning jungkook chases after taehyung who's squealing as he trips and stumbles over the wet pebbles, his hands protecting his camera.

literally five seconds later, jungkook catches up with taehyung and wraps his around him from behind, to stop taehyung from running away much to the latter's dismay.

"that's not fair! that wasn't ten seconds!" taehyung whines, struggling in the bear hug jungkook has him in.

"i don't care - delete that photo." jungkook breathes, tightening his grip around taehyung.

"jung-! oh," taehyung stops mid sentence when he notices the orange glow setting on the horizon. "wait, wait, hold on - lemme take a picture."

with a smile growing on his face, taehyung hastily snaps a series of photos of the sunset, making sure to pick up the red and orange hues imprinted against the rose coloured sky.

"wow." taehyung says, breathlessly as he leans against jungkook's front. and jungkook, despite his huge urge to wrench the camera out of his boyfriend's hand and delete his photo, rests his chin on taehyung's shoulder.

"mm." jungkook agrees wordlessly. both of them stare after the waves, the water glistening under the slowly setting sun and the steady rush of water meets their ears. taehyung sighs happily.

"but seriously taehyung, delete that photo."

"shh, don't ruin the moment."

"but-"

"shh."

"i hate you."

"no, you don't - you love me too much." taehyung hums nonchalantly.

"unfortunately."
taehyung giggles in response.

"im glad you said yes, by the way." jungkook says softly and out of the blue, breaking the small silence between them.

"im glad too, kook." taehyung smiles, turning around in his arms to hug the other, "now, should we go eat those snacks?"
