Zaezen Dewshield
Well, found out shifting is harder then it looks, "Come on Zae, concentrate."
My head was ready to explode. I never knew how painfully learning how to shift was, " Leint you're not helping"
He gave me a grouchy look. He doesn't like me snapping at him, "Sorry my head is pounding. Is there an easier way to do this?" He was losing his patience with me.
"Zae, go home and rest. I think your headache is rubbing on me now." He rubbed his temples.
"Fine, I'll be reading if you need me." I stomped away frustrated.
I lied. Instead of going to my room, I went out to the forest for a walk. Leint would never have let me if I asked.
I pulled my hair out of its braid and combed it through with my figures. I don't remember how long I was out there, but it was getting dark.
Oh crap, Leint is going to kill me. Wait, where am I. Leint didn't know I was out here, I don't know where I am.
As night came I tried to find my way back. I wrapped my arms around me, freezing. I was scared, I didn't know this part of the woods.
I tried to hold back tears but one escaped. It was hours I wandered.
A twig snapped behind me. My heart was racing. I saw a shadow move between the trees.
"W-whos there?" I was shaking bad. A man stepped out. He was a whole head taller then me, but I was also short for my age. His hair looked brown, but it was too dark to tell.
He smiled at me, "What are you doing out this late?" He didn't know who I was or something?
I relaxed. "I got lost, I was just taking a walk."
He came up and put his hand on my shoulder, "You can come back to the inn with me. You'll be safe there." He definitely didn't recognize me in the dark. "We can find your home in the morning."
I nodded, even though I didn't know him, I was too scared to be out here alone, "Ok.." He took his cloak off and put it over my shoulders,"You must be freezing."
We walked through the woods a bit till we hit a trail, we followed it for a bit back to the inn.
We went up to his room. I went in, he shut the door behind him after a moment.
He looked at me, at my snow white hair and my piercing blue eyes, "You're the girl." My eyes widened. I backed up all the way to the wall.
No this can't be him, Leint killed him.
I was breathing heavy. "Get away! You killed my parents." I slid down the wall and buried my face between my knees, putting my hands on the back of my head, "Leave me alone I didn't hurt anyone."
I heard his footsteps and he sat by me, I looked over at him and he looked back placing a hand on my cheek, "I didn't help them, I just stood there, I won't hurt you."
His voice was relaxing. He stood up and offered a hand, I took it, more or less trusting him.
"Get some sleep, you need it. You can use the bed, I'll sleep on the ground." I took his offer of the bed, I was so exhausted from that walk.
I took his cloak off and gave it too him, then laid down and was sleeping in no time. I didn't know if I could trust him but I did, for a strange reason I felt safe here.
