Zaezen Dewshield

I woke up before he did, my neck was killing me. I got up to get some food from the packs.

It was cold in the morning, the sun was just coming out. When I was looking through the packs, I noticed that my sword was missing. It must still be in the forest where I landed.

I went back in the house, everyone was sleeping. I reached down to where Rin had his sword. He rolled over, but luckily he was still asleep.

I bent down to him, kissing his forehead lightly.

I went out pulling the hood of my cloak up. The forest looked dark, but it would be lighter soon. I ducked under branches, weaving around trees, following Rin's footprints he left when running.

I found my sword, it was caught up in a tree. The leather strap must have ripped when I fell. I didn't want to set down his sword but I had to to climb.

I set it down and started to climb the tree. It took me a moment but I got to the branch my sword was stuck on.

I stood up on the branch, carefully walking to it. The sword was stuck half way down the branch. I inched my way to it slowly.

I reached down grabbing it, the symbols glowing at my touch. I heard someone yell below me, "Zae!"

I lost my balance, falling. I grabbed the branch dangling by one arm. Rin was under me, "Hold on, I'll get you down."

He started to climb the tree, up to the branch. The branch bending, my grip slipping slightly, "Rin!"

I dropped the sword, grabbing the branch with both hands now. He hurried as fast as he could and reached down, grabbing my wrists pulling me up to him, holding me tight in his arms.

"What in gods sake were you doing out here alone?" He was worried, that was obvious.

"I'm sorry Rin, I needed to get my sword."

He sat me down looking me in the eyes. "Wake me up next time, don't do things alone, please. I can't lose you."

I nodded turning around not saying a word, heading to the trunk of the tree. He followed not far behind.

Once we were down on the ground I picked up my sword, running off in the opposite direction of the house.

"Zae!" His foot steps were right behind me. I can't see them get hurt. Not him, not the one I love.

He tripped behind me, falling hard to the ground. I glanced back at him and he was looking right up at me.

I ran till my legs gave out and hit the ground hard. It was snowing by then.

There was a clearing, and a huge tree in the center. Why does this look familiar?

I got up, my legs shaking. The tree was gorgeous. It was full of white flowers and birds. It was calling me, whispers circling me, urging me forward. I forgot all about my weary legs, only concentrating on the tree.

I reached the roots of the tree. Near the trunk the roots were almost twice my height. My hand seemed to move to the trunk without me thinking.

I touched it, a fuzzy feeling went through me, then a flash in my vision. When I could see clearly, everything was the same, but it didn't feel real.

I could hear heavy breathing behind me, not just one, but many.

I turned around, seeing great dragons of many clans. It was amazing. No one has ever seen all of the clans together, but here they are.

I fell to a knee, realizing who they were, "Pendragons, how are you here? You died many eons ago."

They all shifted into their human forms. The shifter who I recognize as Northos, the blue dragon, his long grey hair down, wearing his long blue robes, stepped forward.

"Zae, we have called you here for a reason. Stand."

The red dragon, Torus, the young strong soldier, his armor gleaming and his brown dusty hair hanging in his face, continued his sentence, "You are one of us."

"You are the reincarnation of the white dragon, Erlor, the rare cycle that only happens once every 1,000 years." Continued Morlin, the green dragon, her blond hair up in a bun, her green vest-like cloak fanned out behind her revealing a short white shirt and brown pants.

"But, how is this possible?"

Morlin came up to me, she was a whole head taller than me, "You are a Dewsheild, the long unbreakable line of white dragons."
