Zaezen Dewshield

A screech peirced the air. Rin pulled me close

"What in Morcer's sake was that?"

I looked up seeing a black figure circling us in the air "It's a Zorik, one of my uncle's minions."

I got out of his grip grabbing his wrist "We need to leave."

I hopped onto my horse, Rin jumping on behind me, my aunt getting his horse. His brothers getting on their own.

We took off at a fast pace. The beating of the wings behind us.

Rin had his arm hooked around my waist and his sword in his other hand.

His warm body was pressed against mine. I felt safe with his there holding me, but now isn't the time to relax. I have to keep them safe.

I guided the horse through trees for a while, pulling back on the reins once I didn't hear the beating of the wings.

"Why are we stopping, Zae?" He moved his hand to my waist.

I slid off the saddle. "I have to keep you guys safe."

I landed on the ground, Rin grabbing my wrist."You don't have to do this alone."

I looked up at him, tears starting to cloud my vision. "I'm sorry."

I reached up hooking my hand on his neck pulling myself up, kissing him gently.

I pressed my forehead to his. "I love you so much, Rin."

We broke as a shadow passed over head.

I reached back smacking the horses rear. "Go!"

My horse took off, Rin looking back at me. Our eyes locked sadness in his eyes.

I turned around unsheathing my sword, the symbols glowing. The Zorik landed, it was ten times my size.

Steam came out of its stump of a snout. The spikes, running down its long neck, bristled while it growled at me.

The beast reared back, an amber starting to glow through its scales.

It inhaled, then spit out a fireball. I raised my hand closing my eyes. A blue light pulsed out of my hand around me in a protective barrier.

It sustained most of the blow, the fall of the barrier threw me back into a tree.

The wind was knocked out of me from the impact. I landed on my knees hard, a searing pain ran through my side.

I looked down to a thin stick through it, grunting as I yanked it out.

I stood up grabbing my sword from beside me. It ignited in flames the colors of the Pendragons'.

I began twirling it, the flame following the blade. I pulled the sword behind me, swinging it in an arc towards the Zorik.

The flame left the blade towards the beast hitting it on the side. It howled, shaking the ground at it hit the ground bleeding out.

I fall to my knees, all my energy used up. The ground starts to spin and eventually turns black as I hit the ground.
