Chapter Fourteen- Bull's eye

'Yes, your daughter is okay.' Ricardo's words yesterday seems to float in the air. They were constantly ringing in my ears.

Almost as if they were taunting me repeatedly.

I didn't know if I should laugh of be afraid for those words Ricardo heard Dante say. They could mean anything, either he knows I'm here and they are bargaining my kidnap or from beginning he wanted me to be here.

Could my Dad have something to do with my kidnapping? Is that why I haven't been pinned as missing yet? He's not bothering to look for me.

It never crossed my mind before but thinking about it now it almost seems... Impossible. What on earth was I doing?

I gave myself a mental slap then shook my head.

It couldn't be possible, my Dad isn't capable of doing what I think this is. I didn't even want to think of the word. Even if he did it what could be his reasons.

I violently shoved the thought away along with the wave of sadness it brought.
If that's what they want me to believe, I won't. The only way my Dad could harm me was if he isn't my Dad.

And I can't be mistaken, I'm my father's daughter. He's the one who brought me to New York to make me forget my past pains in Berkeley.

The one who had raised me singlehandedly when my mother had packed her bags and walked out of our lives without looking back.

Sometimes, I can't help but wonder where my mother was in all this. Dead, enjoying her new family or regretting her action of leaving us.

No time for being cordial, even the sight of his office door makes me want to break it down.
I pushed open the door of Felipe's office, who didn't seem the least surprised to see me.

"Magione, just the person I wanted to see." He said, slowly rising from his chair.

Who does he thinks he's acting up for? Using another name to swipe those deals from under noses. I mean who does that nowadays. Sometimes I just have to agree with my instincts. This guy belongs in an mental hospital.
His case is a T.K.O

"You think you're smart, sabotaging our deals in another name." I shot at him.

He walked towards me with a wicked smile on his face.
"Dante, Dante. I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Don't act like that, I know you do. Now answer, why are you doing this?" I spat with all the anger I had built up inside.

"I would love to see you suffer."

His answer was on a low side, very annoying.
"You aren't making me suffer, it's my father you're stressing out. So no point in that." I stated.

He shut his eyes and threw his head back laughing mockingly before he spoke.
"You're the next after your Father. If I drain your money now, you won't have any when you take over."

"Stop okay. Stop making yourself look like an idiot, I didn't come here to play find the dunce with you. Now give me reasonable answer now some deep shit I don't care about."

To me this whole Mafia thing was useless, I didn't have one bit of interest in taking over from my Father. I was just dong all this to please him.

He paced round me like my father normally did.
"You mean after all these years you don't know what you did. You Magione, deprived me of love."

I couldn't help but frowned at that.
"What the hell are you saying, everyone is free to love even the devil himself." I gritted out.

"She was mine." He growled out.

I was getting confused who was he referring to, I didn't have time listen to what he was blabbing about.
"Look, I didn't come here for all this. If you're not....."

I was cut short when Felipe grabbed me by my shirt.
"You took her. My Viviana."

Before I could reply I felt a searing pain at my side, I looked down to see my shirt soaking up that familiar crimson liquid. The bastard has stabbed me.
Using my strength I pushed him away from me, he tumbled backwards, his eyes wide with surprise.
He tripped on his legs and landed on his back.

I stared at him on the floor, he didn't stand up to fight back. It seems odd for him not to retaliate.
I dragged myself out of the room, groaning with pain.

Things with Felipe never ended well, I didn't want to admit this but I knew he had probably hit his head hard when I shoved him. Very hard actually

I tossed continually on the bed. Sleepless nights, I hated them. Not that I had a good reason to even  sleep well.

I swung my legs off the bed and stood up, pacing around the room. This was a solution to be sleepy but I knew it wouldn't work for me.

Instead of getting tired, I'll start thinking.
I glanced at the clock on the bedside table, it was 3:45am. I decided to get a book to read instead, I had been dying of boredom and I never knew there was a mini library here.

Luckily, Ricardo had shown it to me two days ago. I loved curling up to read a good book. I grabbed the key walked past the stairs, that's when my tummy alerted me that I was hungry.

So I proceeded down the stairs to get something to eat, all the lights were switched off. As I passed through the kitchen my eyes caught something at the door. I shrugged and ignored it, maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.

I ended up eating the some leftover rolls I baked yesterday afternoon. It was kind of hard finding my way back up since all the lights were off but I didn't want to wake anyone by switching it on.

Even when I walked as gently as I could, o still ended up bumping into the counter and the key slipped from my hands.

I sighed, now I had to switch on the light. After doing that, I found where I had dropped the key but I also spotted something else...

Blood.

Short, I know but I didn't have a choice. This is where I've got to wrap it up. Thanks for reading y'all. Sorry for the delay in this.

I will leave you with the riddle of the week.
