I walk back into the apartment. Since it's already 10:50, I can't do anything so I go sit at the kitchen table.

I pull out my phone and take a big bite of the apple I grabbed earlier. I open the twitter app and scroll through my feed. I click on a tweet from Abbey.

@Abbey016- So excited to go to the mall today with my two best friends! Good way to start the summer!

I click retweet and reply back.

@kathgoodman81- Totes! See ya soon girl (;

A few minutes later I hear a small knock on the door. I grab my purse and open the door.

"Ready?" asks Danielle.

"Yep. Where's Abbey?"

"We still need to pick her up."

When we all arrive at the mall we decide to first go to Macy's.

"So Kath, what did you do last night?" Abbey asks me, while looking at shorts.

Should I tell them about Adam. Of course I should they are my friends and I tell them everything.

"Well, a guy from my Spanish class gave me his number and invited me to a pool party next weekend." They both look up from the clothes at me with their mouths wide open. "What?" I say.

"Oh my god Katherine! Who?" They both say in unison.

A woman a few feet away from us shoots us a If you don't shut up I'll get the manager look.

"Okay. Shh." I say trying to quiet them down before this lady really does get the manager.

"Well tell us!" Abbey practically shrieks.

"Well his name is Adam." I tell them cautiously looking into both of their eyes. Do they even know Adam? Abbey is quite the gossiper, so I am sure she knows him. She might even know the time she was born. I try to hide my smile from my funny, yet true thoughts.

"Ooh girl! You are smiling. That means you like him." Danielle playfully punches my shoulder.

"No! I barely know him!" I try to defend myself. But it is true, I barely know him so how or why would I like him?

"Then why on earth are you going to a pool party with him-" Abbey is cut off by Danielle.

"Wait! Katherine how are you going to go to a party. You don't swim." Danielle says.

"Guys, I'm not really going."

"Then why did you say you were?" Abbey asks.

Why did  I say I was going? I was never really going to go, so why did I even tell my friends? I mentally slap myself for being so stupid. "I don't know," I sigh. "I mean I told Adam I was going. But I was going to just cancel or something. I don't even know why I told you guys that I was going."

"Maybe you want to go with him?" A cheesy grin spreads across her pretty little face. I can't help but giggle at the look on her face.

"No!" I lightly push her shoulder.

"Okay, okay. Whatever, Mrs. Adam." She adds.

I groan and stomp away dramatically.
