The excitement builds up as I walk down the hall to the next door apartment. Last summer I had tried to get a babysitting job, but there was no children in the building.
I knock four times, sharply on the door. But, before I could get to my fifth and final knock the door quickly opens.
I jump at the boy standing in front of me.
"What?" He sharply asks. Ouch. Something crawled up his ass.
"Well," I say. "Um, are you the new neighbor?"
"Um... yeah? Why?"
Total charmer. I look down at his body. His arms are covered in tattoos. At the top of his thin, white shirt I can see some more tattoos peeking out. He is wearing black gym shorts and on his ankle he has yet another tattoo.
"I'm Katherine. I live next door."
"Cool."
"Um, is there someone else here that I can talk to?"
"Yeah, but I don't think they want to talk to you either." He spits with a thick british accent.
Ouch. "Nice to meet you too." I stomp away.
"Katherine!" He yells down the hall.
"What?" I yell.
He opens the door a bit more. "Would you like to come in?"
"No. I have better things to do." I turn back on my heel.
"Come on. You can help me and my mum unpack? We can become the best of neighbors." He smirks at me.
"Fuck off." I roll my eyes.
"No need to be fiesty. Just trying to be friendly."
"I don't think that's what you were doing. And I don't know you, let alone your name so I don't want to spend my time with a complete stranger. "
"You're right. I'll see you around." He slams the door closed
What the heck was that?
"Oh and Katherine," He says opening the door again. "It's Liam. Liam Payne."
