Michael P.O.V
I texted Calum waiting for him to text back and saw the gray typing bubble. I'll face time you now. I swallowed and messed with my hair nervously. I text him back and my phone rang in my palm. I got off my bed and got my snapback and slid it on before clicking the answer button.
"Hi, Michael!" He says and moved the phone farther away from his face. " Calum omg it's weird to actually see you." " You've seen my Instagram posts." He shrugs and leans against a wall. "Your room I'm guessing?" He nods and switches the camera around shows me his room and his All Time Low Poster and talks about how they may be coming to Denver this summer and he really wants to go. " Ash may take me, my best friend who I told you about." I nod and listen to his voice and how it's not what I imagined. " How long have you lived in Denver?" I ask. " Since I was ten. Do you hear my accent or no?" " It's there but not like as in your face as I thought or well more in your ears." He rolls his eyes and laughs. " You sound American to me." He says. " Yeah I left Sydney when I was really young so I lost it," I say he nods and I hear a voice. " That's my sister." He says. " Oh right," I say. " So how was your day?"
"Busy, I went to school caught the subway to this pizza place today it was really good then I went home." " Pizza is good," Calum says and I nod excitedly. " Anything interesting happen?" Calum asks. " Good nothing really happened," I say and shrug. He tells me about school and how Ashton gives him rides home and how the two of them are going up to Boulder this weekend. " So how far is Boulder from Denver?" " Less than an hour." He says. "That's cool." "Yeah, that's where Ashton may go to college." He says and sounds sad. " How much older is he than you?" I ask. " Like three years, he graduates this year." He says. " How did you two become friends?" I ask. " We lived on the same street growing up and I would always go to his house to hang out. We would go ride out bikes and get ice cream together and it was nice. " Do you still live close?" " Somewhat," Calum says and lays down on his bed holding his phone over his face before dropping it and I get a close up of his lips as he curses and picks it back up and tilts his phone sideways. "Anyway, how did you and Luke become friends? " " Well, we were enemies when we were younger but became friends in middle school. " " That's cool." I nod and look around my room and then down at my phone. " You want a room tour?" " Sure." Calum laughs as I switch the camera view and show him all my posters and everything else that is crammed in my room.
"Michael dinner's almost ready!" My mom yells. " You need to go?" Calum asks. " Yeah but in a minute actually hang on." I get up holding my phone and go down to the kitchen and switch the camera around. " Hey mom you know my friend Calum?" " Who you met on the internet?" She sounds skeptic. " Yes well I'm face timing him and he wants to say hi." I say and switch the view back on me and show my mom the phone. Calum waves. " Hi I know you probably thought I didn't exist." He says. She laughs a little. " Michael talks about you a lot, do your parents know about this?' She asks. Calum nods. "So where do you live again?" " Denver." He says. She nods. " Well it's nice meeting you, dinners ready M." I go back into my room and plug in my phone. "I'll face time you soon okay?" Calum says. I nods. " Wait let me take a screenshot!" He says and I laugh and smile. " I'll post it on insta after this." He says. We say our goodbyes before he hands up. I smile as I go back down the hall. " Dad's working late." My mom says as she turns off the stove. " Okay." "So you think you two will ever meet?" She asks. " That's the plan if I can get enough money to go to Colorado." " How old is he?" " Seventeen." I say. My mom nods before going into the living room that has such a great view of the city. I get some spaghetti and then go up to my room and finish up my home work and see a notification from Calum. Got to face time Michael tonight and it was great! I smile and like his post and comment back before finishing my dinner and going to sleep.
