Just Friends

Chapter 16 Summer= Concerts

Calum POV

"You ready to go?" I ask while fixing my hair. "Yeah, is Ash  picking us up?" Michael asks wrapping his arms around me from behind and resting his chin on my shoulder.  "Tonight  is going to be super fun." I say. "Yep." Michael says and rubs his nose against my cheek making me blush and smile really big. " you're so cute."  He says.

"Is it okay that Hannah comes with us tonight? She has a ticket and her friends bailed." Ashton says. I  feel my hopes rise but shake it away and nod. "Sure!" I say. Michael looks over at me waiting for us to go. " "Well let's go."  Ashton says. We get in the car and drive to Hannah's." Luke's meeting us there." Michael says looking up from his phone.  I nod and lean back in the front seat and look at the house we stop in front.  "her house is huge." I say out loud as I see the front door open." I agree." Michael says from the back seat.

"Ash! Hey,  thanks for letting me come." She says sliding into the back seat. She looks over at Mikey and then me. " I thought it was just us." She says. " I told you Calum and Michael were coming too, I got Calum tickets." He says. " Oh well can I sit next to you?" She asks looking at him. "Um I should move sorry." I say and open the door and get out. I sit next to Michael.  I hear her fasten her seat belt loudly before looking in the review mirror and then over at Ashton making my heart drop.  "Tonight is going to be so fun! She squeals. She turns around and looks at me. " So are you two friends?" She asks. "We erm are actually.." Michael fumbles for words but I jump in before he can say something that outs the both of us.
"We're friends Mikey flew out from New York to see me we met on twitter." I say.
"Oh really? I'm talking to a guy on Facebook but who knows if he is who he says he is." I see Ashton's shoulders slump.
"I thought you were single and into me?" I ask. She looks over at Ashton and frowns. " I mean as friends."
"But you were flirting with me." He says. "I was being nice were friends and friends go to concerts together." " So what about the just going to be us comment?" I pipe up. She sighs. " I like hanging out with my friends one on one not in a group." She says. " So were just friends?" " Ashton looks at it this way, we're going off to college, we don't have time for dating." She says. We pull up to the venue and all get out the car. " Calum can I talk to you?" Ashton asks he looks heartbroken as he shoves his hands in his pockets.  " I thought she had a crush on me? But we're just friends. I can't believe her." He says. " I know but you'll find someone I swear, you're a good guy. Now let's get in line and have some fun tonight." I say he nods right as Luke walks over. Ashton pats my shoulder and goes to get in line leaving Michael, Luke, and I standing together."

During Back Seat Serenade I look over at Michael and at our hands both by our sides and I pick up the courage to hold it. No one is paying attention to us as I take his hand in mine. He looks down and then over at me. He says something but I can't hear him. He says something else then shakes his head and leans in.  Our lips meet. I feel butterflies in my stomach and everything for once feels okay. I'm with my best friend and a guy I like and at a concert. Mikey pulls away and begins singing along. I do the same and lean into him.

"That was awesome!" Luke says as we leave. I nod my hand still in Michael's and my heart is still beating fast from the adrenaline of the show and I hardly have a voice. Hannah walks over to us. " Have you seen Ashton?" she asks. " Not yet and he's our ride," I say. She looks at Michael and I and I notice she can see us holding hands. I loosen my grip slightly but Michael tightens it and looks at me with a little smile. "You two are .. together?"

"He's pretty cute huh?" Michael says and I blush and look down at my vans.  " Cal!" I turn and see Ashton walking over to us a band shirt slung over his arm. " Sorry I left a little later."

"Why did you stay inside so long?" I ask. " So I could get this." He pulls out a  photo from his pocket and hands it to me. I look and it and see it's a band picture and it's signed. " How did you?" I stayed after and they came out and signed some things and I got one and I thought you would like it so here you go, I can always make a copy of it for all of us." He says. I look at him speechless. " Wait you're telling me I could go inside and meet Alex?" Michael says and is  giddy with excitement. " I mean yeah  if they let you back in." My boyfriend looks over at me and smiles. " Cal, please? " Mikey," I whine. " We can go in  together." Luke suggest." "Well I'll be out here," Ashton says looking at Hannah.  I sigh and follow Mikey and Luke back inside and find a few people at the front and Alex taking pictures and signing things. Mikey squeaks next to make making me laugh. I would like to tell you that we all met them and Mikey got a picture and fan -boyed but we got close enough before my boyfriend just passed out. I panicked and called Ash and now here I am sitting in a waiting room making sure he didn't get a concussion. "So I passed out?" I look up and see Mikey sits next to me. "They let you go?" Yeah mild concussion called my mom it's nothing major. "Sorry, you missed your chance of meeting  them." " It's cool." He shrugs. " Where is everyone?"  He asks looking around the empty waiting room. "Ash went to get food Hannah went home and Luke is at his hotel but said for me to text him when you came to so I should do that." I say. I text Luke on our way home but am left on read.  We all get to my house and I literally flop down on my bed and fall asleep and then feel Michael on top of me and  try to push him off but I'm too tired to do so.
